Cowboys Send Young Team to Chile Pepper

Statešs menšs cross country team will hold some of its top runners out this
week as it heads to Fayetteville, Ark., to compete in the Chile Pepper
Invitational.
Sophomore Marcus Hershberger will look to lead the Cowboy squad around the
10K course as the Cowboys look to improve on their fourth place finish at
last years event. Freshman James Wanjiku, redshirt freshman Charlie Bromley,
sophomore Sean McCabe and junior J.R. Lake will also represent the Cowboys
in Fayetteville.
The Chile Pepper will feature teams from around the country, including host,
Arkansas, which is currently ranked eighth nationally, and Abilene
Christian, who placed fifth at the Cowboy Jamboree, and is ranked third
nationally in Division II. In-state rival Oklahoma will also be competing.
This is the last meet of the season for the cross country team before
heading to the Big 12 championships in Austin, Texas, on Oct. 31.
