Wow, what a shocker...I can't believe someone with the obviously high intelligence it takes to peel potatos in a chain restaurant made an error in etiquette by hurling insults at Zac and family. Hmmmm, and those few educated sooners wonder where the majority mentallity outside their inner circle comes to think a HUGE majority of their bandwagon fans are base, literally moronic pinheads with absolutely no sense of humility. "Humble" is a word that obviously does not exist in that majorities very limited vocabulary more than likely due to the fact it has more than 4 or 5 letters and has never been used in their presence. But, the important things will always be paramount, they WON, they have sent the loser packing with as many verbal slurs as possible and the Quic Trip is still open so they can purchase more Schlitz...another classy fan bears his a$$. What a shocker.

So I guess Zac and family "incited" this chain of events by actually having the gall to have dinner at a restaurant without the team? I suppose next year we'll have to make sure he has the rest of the team there to "offset" the possibility of a bandwagon moron screaming slurs at him over a meal. Nice comment Boomer...

Sorry, I took it differently. If the team was in a different state, I'd also wonder a little why he was not with the team but it isn't like Norman is a few hundred miles away. Having dinner with family after a game SHOULD have been no big deal, probably wouldn't have been after any other game. I know you can't control all the a$$es that claim to be uo fans but jes, this is just another black eye for what is historically a bad scene for your school.

Yeh, you're probably right...makes sense an OSU fan would be peeling potatos at a chain restaurant in Norman and then go out into the main dining room and scream slurs at the QB for the football team and family...yeh, that makes perfect sense. So he drove himself to the game or went home with family? I figured the team would ride the bus there, and then again back to Stillwater. Then they could go eat where ever they want in a "safe" environment.

The team stayed in a hotel in OKC Friday night. My best guess is they were able to leave with their family after the game...if they had family in attendance.
What's the big deal? It was a HOLIDAY weekend...most people spend it with family...and some of them have to delay their family holiday time to entertain us on Saturdays.

Myself and most of the posters around here are of the persuasion that eating anywhere in the USA, especially Oklahoma, should be safe...regardless of who you play or cheer for...but obviously this is the Robinson's fault (not the derelict gooner potato peeler) for not packing up and heading out of Norman

I'm not getting worked up about it, and I am sure the vast majority of OU students and alums wouldn't condone such behavior. However, Sooner fans frequently ask what our "obsession" is with bandwagon fans. See, e.g., http://www.orangepower.com/showthread.php?t=44894.
A lot of us have experienced behavior similar to what Zac experienced, and it usually comes from someone situated similarly to the potato peeler who, I am guessing, is neither a student or alum of OU.
It's one thing to talk smack as an actual grad of the university. My best freind from high school went to OU and we continue to talk smack to each other all the time. It's fun to do, it's never personal beacuse neither of us are too serious about it because we both have lives, and it's borne from a love for our universities, not out of hatred of one another.
For the potato peeler people, their only connection to OU is the baseball cap they picked up at Goodwill. But those always seem to be the ones who yell "You suck!" in our faces at remarkably inappropriate moments. It is the universality of this experience that probably strikes a chord among our fans.

No, I'm sorry you're the idiot. There are fans in Norman that are OSU fans and other schools. Just because you reside in Norman does not mean you are an OU fan. There are tons of kids at norman and norman north high school that have no love or association for OU besides that they happen to live in Norman. My brother went to OSU for a year but was an OU fan but I guess that couldn't happen because OU fans don't live in Stillwater.
Cracks me up because there is actually one retard that works with my fiance that legally changed his middle name to "OSU freak". Let me tell you a story magic! It happened this past weekend at the game to a person who posts on this board. I will not identify this person because his spouse told me the story. He was patiently waiting in line at the urinal during the game. When it was his turn, two gooner fans behind him made comments about how long it was going to take the aggie to pee. So, being nice people, one of the gooners kicked him in the knee causing him to almost piss on himself!! Talk about stupid, childish and ignorant! That is why true Cowboy fans hate the gooners. After he was finished, he turned around and confronted the guy. The gooner didn't say anything and acted like he didn't do it.
Any wonder why we think of gooner fans as classless rednecks??

How can you as an adult, claim that a football program sets the limits of respect that a certain individual should get? If I was a Rhode Island University fan, does that mean I get less respect?
It's not that NCAA football programs are the way of distributing respect. Each individual deserves the same respect as the other, at least until they show no reciprocity.
OSU fans want respect for sticking to their school. Not for what their football team does. WE want respect for supporting our school, regardless of success. We have a small amount of bandwagon fans, which makes us proud of our University either with a win/loss. WE may be upset about losses but we always bounce back eventually.

What's butt-kissing? I have a lot of respect for OU football, and I don't mind saying so. Give credit where credit is due, I say. Even the folks here who would rather die than admit they admire Sooners football seem to be the first to bring up Stoops as an example of a coach who was able to turn a team around quickly (as if Stoops' situation and Gundy's were at all similar).
As far as quality of education, the schools are the same. Even if there are minor differences, they're perceived as the same by everyone not associated with either university.
I've lived in both Stillwater and Norman. Both are nice places, but I prefer Stillwater. Norman is just too close to OKC for it to seem like a true college town. It feels more like a suburb.

P.S. That picture of that retarded guy has been around longer than the Big 12. You all seem to get everything a few years late. It has been photoshopT to represent just about every school known. The real photograph (available in countless places on the web) shows this retarded fellow in orange. It was taken outside the Vols stadium in Tennessee. We know it is not a poke fan by the fact it was taken out of state. Everyone knows that osu has no fans that don't/didn't attend state a&m. Besides he looks like he could get into a better school.
The Big 12 hasn't been around that long, so it's quite possible it's older than that. I've had it for a couple years and don't remember where I found it. If it's photoshopped, then it's the best that I've ever seen and I'd ask that you provide the original. To be fair, I tried to check it out on Snopes and didn't find anything.

From what I've seen of your posts, one could draw the same conclusion about you.

I'm not upset. I am just trying to understand why poke fans don't enjoy what they have instead of spending time taking shots at OU. Which just makes them look idiotic.
Yes I have seen your butt-kissing posts there ;)
Nobody really cares what you think. What do you think you're going to get when you come on here. This is an OSU board, obviously we are not going to have "nice" or "polite" things to say about OU.
"Taking shots at OU"...what do you want us to do, have a friendly pow wow and praise the OU god.
"Makes us look idiotic"...here's some friendly advice, if you don't like it leave!!!
