While he will never stand a fighting chance, like Ross Perot, Ron Paul will make some good points and challenge the policies of the other candidates. He has this view of America and the world like its 1907 instead of 2007 and oversimplifies the issues. His exchange w/ McCain was downright laughable. I can't believe that he honestly feels the world will stop hating us if we leave their country. Fact is, we will always have embassies and bases scattered all over the world in order to distribute our power throughout the world - a central idea of maintaining influence and power throughout the world.
These are terrorists, not good people who just want to be left to themselves! "If you leave them alone they will leave you alone" is just not an idea promoted very heavily by extremist Islamic terrorists.

I hadn't heard much from the guy before last night and I am now thankful for that. The guy came across as a buffoon.
Edited: He only came across as a buffoon on that whole 'isolationist' exchange with McCain. He didn't impress me on any of the other issues, either.
You all shouldn't be posting on here. There are terrorists on the Internet and they might send you an email attachment that contains a virus!

What sucks is that he'll never win the Rep. nomination because he's obviously not an insider. He's not one of the guys. CNN was basically making fun of him last night by showing that question about how he clearly won't get the nomination so will he run as an independent..

Don't get him confused with Ralph Nader.

Yeah that was bullcrap. Another one was the question bringing up the North American Union. Then one of the CNN panelists after the debate was like "He can't be taken seriously. He's bringing up the NAU."
Earth to dumbass; your network brought it up.
There was a guy after the debate that was giving him a lot of credit. I think it was Jamal Simmons basing off of his responses here: http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/debates/scorecard/youtube.debate.112807/

I don't think Ron Paul will get the Republican nomination, but from what I hear he has a large support base. He's a Republican so I won't hate on him.

I'm not sure which is worse, playground name calling or creating an alias and attention whoring. Either way, it's pathetic.

Let's hope you don't live your entire life with thinking like this. The world is a much bigger place than two political parties.

I love how people dismiss someone because they come off as goofy, when they have no idea what their positions are...America at its FINEST!

That's essetially how we make most of our decisions in life, based off first reactions. If we had to absorb all the "necessary" information in order to make an informed decision, that's all we'd spend our lives doing, and nothing would get done. Making decisions based on first reactions is a product of nature. Political candidates should be smart enough to realize that and utilize it.
I don't really like Ron Paul, but I don't like most of the presidential candidates. I figure I'll just settle for who can appeal to me the most whenever I see them around. It's not like it really matters that much what the politicians positions are; how many of them actually stick to those?
It's all about voting for the lesser of evils. Nobody is really qualified to take on the job, but there are some that are more qualified than others.

If that's how people made their decisions, Bush wouldn't have gotten close to the White House steps.

Kinda like how Rupert Murdoch, probably one of the biggest conservative I can think of, has his lips glued to Hillary's butt. Political parties are disintegrating, there really is no real republican or democrat. Unfortunately, great men like Ron Paul will never get anywhere as an independent because he won't even make it on the ballot.

Yeah Ron Paul is ok but he is not president material by far. Overall I'm kind of leaning toward Duncan Hunter.

Haha. That's funny. Can't find any dirt on a candidate so they have to make it look like all of his supporters are bad people which in turn means he must be a bad person....right? Surely they can find something on him.
Lets see...
Follows the Constitution.
Consistent voting record.
Doesn't want to control our lives.
Doesn't throw terrorist sheep bait at us like we're ignorant Americans.
This is hard....
I'm sure everyone running for president short of Obama has white supremacists supporting them. The comments really speak for themselves.
Good smear peice, but I think you forget to mention how Ron Paul kills puppies with his bare hands and grinds there bones to make bread.

You Ron-Paulites sure are a dedicated bunch.
I do like a little of what he says. But he sure comes off to me as an isolationist - and that ideology has been proven not to work time and again.
I'll still consider him when the primaries come around in OK. But, I think my vote will be going elsewhere. Possibly Huckabee.

Ron Paul is a non-interventionalist (which is a characteristic of an isolationist but is not isolationism). Ron Paul wants to trade with other countries and has brought this up in debates just to set the record straight. Are Canada and Australia not working? They're non-interventionalist countries IMO.

I think Ron Paul is a nice bretahe of fresh air. I am tired of the same old BS in polotics. Being a revolutionary and wanting to do things totally different is surprising influential to me as a voter. Hilary and Rudy and Mitt make me wanna puke.
I am suck and tired of multi-millionaires running for an winning president. They cant even relate to 95% of americans! Its a pathetic cycle we have been lured into with only 2 political parties.
We are being torn apart by these 2 parties. We need a political makeover as far as political parties go and how money is raised. Its not good for the country the way it is. The average American feels no need to vote.
Not to mention the electorail colelge purpose is retarded now days. We all have TVs all have seen debates. We dont need a mediator to vote for us. Let the popular vote decide it.

Kinda of like characterizing accepting a donation to the city from an official ally of the United States as "having connections to person with connections to someone that planned 9/11", right?

I read enough to tell it was nothing but a smear job just like you're accusing people around here of doing.
BTW, you like throwing around personally insults for anyone that disagrees with you don't you? I agree with 'Chi....you guys are definitely "dedicated"

You can't argue with him on this one Kaje.
It's exactly the same as that Guliani article, EXACTLY the same.
You can't have your cake and eat it too.

It isn't anything alike. Ron Paul has no affiliation with these groups. Is Ron Paul speaking at KKK rallies that I haven't heard about or something?
