Interesting article for all the movie buffs out there:

Who would you add to the list?

Just off the top of my head I thought Ken Wantanabe in The Last Samurai. He stole the thunder from Tom Cruise.

R. Lee Ermie-Full Metal Jacket

He MADE this movie, without him the movie is just another war flick.

That's an ok list, no way did Tom Cruise steal the show in "Tropic Thunder" and no such list is complete without Val Kilmer in Tombstone.

I generally don't support actors, especially those that steal.

I thought you had a sense of humor.

That movie is awesome. I bet you were one of those late moviegoers who went to see the movie after 100s of people told you how funny it was. You went and obviously it didn't meet the lofty expectations. Right? :)

And yeah, Tom Cruise definitely stole the show. No one saw his character coming. It was a huge surprise when I saw it on the opening weekend.

You are exactly right! I have done this with other movies before and didnt like them because everyone over hyped it, but then have watched the movie again with a couple friends and loved the movie. So maybe I should give this movie another try.

Yeah I hate when that happens. If you don't see a movie right away you almost just have to wait till DVD to watch it.

Here's a few I remember ... not all were supporting ... as some probably shared top billing ...

LA Confidential - Russell Crowe
Few Good Men - Nicholson
Mean Streets - De Niro
Godfather II - De Niro
Butch Cassidy - Redford
Deliverance - Burt Reynolds
Platoon - Tom Berenger
Dr. Strangelove - George C. Scott
Untouchables - Sean Connery
Cape Fear - De Niro

I definitely agree with Val Kilmer in Tombstone.

Travolta won the Academy Award for best supporting actor in Pulp Fiction, but I though Bruce Willis was much more deserving of the award.

And Gary Sinise as Lt. Dan in Forrest Gump, didn't steal the show, but definitely wouldn't have been the same without him.

Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs
Val Kilmer in Tombstone
James Earl Jones (as Vadar) in Star Wars
Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight
William Defoe in Boondock Saints
