Strikeforce: Cung Le Fight

Did anyone watch this fight? Cung Le dominated everything until about 2 minutes left and he got knocked silly. You could tell those 2 years off hurt his conditioning. His skills seemed fine but once he got gassed he ate a punch that did him in.

I watched that fight and thought the same thing, Scott Smith is a tough fighter as well. Lawal also fought on this card and he was very impressive in a first round KO of Mike Whitehead. Lawal was also fined 2000 for his celebration afterwards

Looking at the stats you see that Le landed 45 shots in the first round. Problem with those quick little karate dudes is the lack of power. I'm not sure what he'd do against a guy with a decent ground game.

Love to watch him fight though.

He had Smith down and should have finished the fight but couldnt becuase he has no striking power in his hands.

It reminded me of a George Foreman fight. George gets beat up for 11 rounds and then in the 12th he lands the big right hand to KO his exhausted opponent. A look at the scorecards would reveal George lost every round until the KO.
