Bogey! Bogey! Bogey! The best time to the listen to the Animal is after an OU loss. Great stuff.

FYI, Jim was on Van Pelt's side of this, for those that might have been tempted to reply without knowing...

Trabs isn't so bad, you guys can get overly sensitive. He's pretty awesome to listen to when hes ripping someone else like the WVU fan that called in and said the Big East is good conference.

I have to agree with Al on this. Bo had a great opportunity to seize the lead on 16 and wasn't able to do so.

If it wasn't one of Jim's friends, he absolutely would have said he choked.

I agree. It was funny for him to be called out alll day long, and then Al was all over him about it.

If that had been Tiger, Phil, or any other golfer he would have absolutely said they puked down their leg. Choking is when you fall apart when it matters most. Traber tried to argue that no matter who that was he wouldn't have called bogeying the last three holes choking. Bull! I'm glad Al didn't back down.

Honestly and I would say this whether it was an ex-OSU golfer that got second or not and have said this for years. People overuse the word choke. I never thought Phil Mickeson choked. You don't win a Master's and U.S. Open and be a choker. Sometimes you get adrenaline and hit a shot a bit differently. It is hard on players to play with huge Tiger gallery that Tiger is used to as well.

I really think that Bo Van Pelt played great yesterday. I mean people get bogies because pars are not that easy to get. People forget that. A par is a tough then to do on a whole many times. It's not choking. I'd say the same thing if it was Phil Mickelson up there.

I say this for all golfers, no shame in finishing Top 5 in any tournament on the PGA tour, especially the bigger ones and majors but I say any tourney..

If you think Bo choked you don't know golf. Yes, he went bogey, bogey, bogey. But Tiger also made bogey on 16 (does that mean he choked?). So it's a push on 16. 17 was Bo's fault. And the bogey on 18 didn't count, just like what Traber said (that hurts to say). Bo had to try and make the birdie chip so he was overly aggressive to make sure he at least got the ball to the hole. He ended up chipping it 10 feet past which is why he made bogey.

Tiger also drained a 20 foot birdie putt on 15 to go up one and Bo made about a 10 footer right on top of him to tie it up. That doesn't sound like a guy who is choking.

Al didn't own Traber at all. Traber kept asking why he made bogey on 18 and Al just kept saying "because he made bogey". Sweet answer Al. This is why you do local radio.

I agree Al didn't own Traber. completely agree. People talk out of their butt and never play golf. Agreed 18 Bo had to be agressive or would have parred the hole. Anyway, agree 100% prov1, many people use the word choke to be funny or to be really opinionated. Most overused word in sports. Does it happen sure but sometimes and player just gets beat and gets 2nd place.

Personally I don't call anyone a choker who is play on the PGA tour. The last place guy could be the crap out of 99% of golfers out there. If they were chokers they never would have made the PGA tour. It's silly really.

Yup. There's only been one "choke" that is undeniable and that's Jean van de Velde at 1999 British Open. At least that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Bo didn't choke. He got beat by the best player in the world (top 2 of all time). And, anyone who knows golf, knows the first two shots Tiger hit on 18 were golf porn. 345 yard drive and a 190 yard 9 iron? Yup, you're getting beat Bo, sorry.

so true prov1 and I agree VAn de Velde to me is the only real choke job. Now he choked, everyone else has just lost. The Shark might have choked a bit (even though I like the Shark) was it at a U.S. Open? Can't remember.

The Masters in '96. He had like a 7 shot lead or something like that going into the final round. Although, he just had a terrible day from the start. I wouldn't call that a choke. He just played terribly the entire day and couldn't get anything going. Faldo really lucked into that green jacket.

I don't know if what BVP did could be considered a choke, he did get beat by one of the best if not the best to ever play the game, but choking happens all the time in golf. Players let their nerves get the best of them and hit shots they wouldn't hit the first 60 some holes of the tournament. Kenny Perry at Augusta more recently comes to mind in a major but you see it almost every week with a guy who hasn't been in the position to win before.
