Going to take the wife and drive up to Oklahoma in early May and we plan on making a kind of circular tour up I-35 and back around thru Stillwater and then continuing on down the east side of Oklahoma thru east texas before returning to Houston. Going to take leave on a Saturday and return the following Sunday.....any suggestions? I've never been to the SE part of the state. Not interested in "roughing" it.....only looking for quality places.

Don't know how far east you are planning on going but if you are planning to go through the Broken Bow/Idabel I would look for some around Broken Bow lake. This area is known as little dixie and has some beautiful scenery just stay on the beaten path if you know what I mean.:)

Shangri-La is on Monkey Island on Grand Lake and is AMAZING area to stay at. We have friends who have a lake house about a mile away from it and the whole area there is beatiful.

The state spent $250 million on it starting in 2010 to make improvements and all of the lodging rooms just completed renovations so they are all brand new

No. They will shoot you for stumbling onto their Marijuana field/meth lab owned by the Mexican mob.

William's Wonderland king bed up stairs overlooking the valley. It was a great place, ran up a big bar tab watching a Thunder game with the owner. :D
