I consider 8 wins or more generally a succesful season. Which Big 12 teams do you think hit that win mark or better this coming season? My overs and unders in alphabetical order are:

    OVER
    KSU - Contender
OSU - Hoping only 2 conference losses as they break in a new QB
OU - But I still think at least 2 conference losses
UT - At least 2 non-conf wins, but could have 3 or more conference losses
    WVU - Contender

    UNDER
BU - If the other five have 8 wins, somebody has to lose, could lose 1 non conf game
ISU - Tough non-conf games against Tulsa and Iowa, 3 or more conf losses
    KU
TCU - Close either way; could lose at least one non-con game and 2 or 3 or more conf games
TT - Not enough talent yet

I suppose KU was such an obvious "under" that they didn't get a reason?

Also, I have UT as a push. At best.

I'm putting KSU as a pretender. 8 one score games last year. Yes, they played us close but dont think they go 7-1 in those games this year

    OVER

    OSU
    OU
    UT
    WVU
    TCU

    UNDER
    BU
    ISU
    KU
    TT

Not sure my list is even possible because I haven't looked at the schedules of every team, but my gut says this.

I say OSU going 8-4 overall this year is a good solid, logical prediction. Of course I hope we are better than that even.

Yes. I can't imagine 8 wins for them.

WVU and TCU are both like we were a few years ago - they have some talent, but how much depth? A tougher conference schedule could create some devastating injuries. We'll see how they look the last 5 games of the season.

    In order of finish!

    OVER

OSU (Lunt hasn't lost a game yet in conference)
    WVU (Gets thumped in Stillwater)
    TCU (solid contender)
OU (Laundry Jones is 17-8 in conference - has to show he can win consistenly)
UT (Improved, but its a damn tough conference)
    KSU (Probably win most conferences)

    UNDER

ISU (who do they upset this year)
TT (It's not last seasons Baylor)
    BU (I'mmmm Baaaack)
KU (Keeping the wine cool in the cellar)

Note: For those that think I'm not giving enough credit to OU, Laundry Jones has only won more than two conference games in a row once and Broyles isn't on the roster anymore.

Every body in conference should have 3 wins over their non conference foes. I think last yet the conference had 1 loss in all the non-conference games. Given that, each team must win 5 conference games to reach 8. Since there are 10 members in the Big XII, you would have 9 games to play against conference opponents. So for an 8 win season, assuming 3 given, you would have to be 5W & 4L in conference for and 8-4 record..

ISU has Tulsa and Iowa - I could see them losing one or both of those.
Baylor has SMU - an improving team and they will be up for Baylor.
UT better be ready or they could lose to Ole Miss.
KSU has Miami (Fl). Should win, but an upset is possible.

There are a few other possible upsets. The only one the Big 12 team will probably not be favored in is the ISU/Iowa game.

    Ole Miss won't beat Texas....

Ole Miss went 2-10 (0-8 in conference) last season..... they were 116th in the nation in points scored last season. That was worse than Kansas!

Disagree with your possibles, except for ISU, those might be a couple of tough ones. If a team loses any of their non-conference games, they are starting out in a hole to make 8 wins, which was an implied point.

Man, UT may have been struggling as of late, but to even hint they can lose to Ole Miss is beyond absurd imo. I don't think many people on here realize just how putrid Ole Miss is right now....

I'm not banking on 8 wins in conference for us. If Lunt struggles or tosses a couple picks in a game, we could lose some we shouldnt.

For me I'm just going to enjoy this season for what it is. Looking forward to seeing Lunt develop. Now don't get me wrong, I still wanna win. But if Lunt throws out a clunker or two I'm not gonna freak out and sell my season tickets.

Agreed. I don't see their offense being a powerhouse this year, but that D is going to be nasty. They'll crush Ole Miss.

    I think . . .

We win: SS, Az., Ul, KU, IS, TT, TCU, BU

Flip a coin: UT, KS, WVU, OU

This would give us 8-4 if we lost all the flip a coin games. Any we win from that group is icing on the cake. We all know how unforeseen things (injuries, etc.) can effect a team, so fingers crossed for those not to happen.
