Makes it look nicer for visiting speakers though if we don't fill it the place up too.

If only they thought of this when they modified it. They could've just made the roof mechanically rise and fall depending on projected capacity needs! Then it could truly feel like old GIA!

If I see this up during a Men's Basketball game, I may lose it. It's like admitting defeat and just deciding to take the beating.

Saw this thread and the ensuing freakout. So to help... it's for wrestling. Not men's basketball.

Until men's baseball, men's basketball, men's wrestling, and to some extent women's basketball become more consistent winners, there will be attendance problems. This is the way of human nature. Even pro teams IE: Bengals have lost attendance last year, because they are down, and they had a fairly decent year this year. People's time and money only go so far, especially students. You can complain of fair weather fans, but a lot of people don't want to pay money to see a poor product. That is just a fact of life.

That's what I figured. No freak out here. Mens bball attendance will improve if the team improves. I'm not worried about that. If it gives womens bball and wrestling a better atmosphere, I'm all for it. I'm honestly surprised they didn't do it sooner. The BOK Center does it for hockey since they never draw remotely close to 18,000. Makes for better viewing and atmosphere.
