This is going national...crazy story. Said he was surrounded by 12-15 church members and held while they prayed and escorted his partner out of the building while the pastor preached about the sins of homosexuality

He said at one point he was hit in the face

He said he is now getting threats to drop it and is even being asked by members of his family to drop the police report he filed

The church has called it a family issue which has escalated

The way things go, he probably asked to be prayed for, they laid hands on him and prayed and it didn't work and his partner made him feel shamed for doing it and this is a hoax to get back at the church. I mean, why be in the church if you know they don't agree with your lifestyle? I always believe hoax until proven otherwise.

I'm thinking HE didn't ask to be prayed for but his parents asked the church for it and didn't tell him

Once again, why be there if you know they don't agree.

Per the story, it was the church he grew up in, he knew the pastor and the people and his mother asked him to go with them that Sunday
Yep. Reads like a setup. Parents probably told the church to go ahead and that their kid would go along with it without telling their son.

 This is couple. Cormie is the 23yr old on the right. His boyfriend Gary on the left... The dude sounds like he's in his 60's at least in the news interviews... :vomit:

I was in Blackwell this afternoon but the guys I talked to didn't know much, had read about it online like I had. I don't know anything about this church but I could tell from the pictures it isin one of the old outlet mall buildings by the interstate. Living in neighboring Newkirk I know the that if the television news cameras show up that far from their stations, something stupid had happened. Same thing here I think.

Should all gay people expect this to happen when they go to church? Is THIS example the expectation all gay people should prepare for?
Should they expect it to happen? No. However, if you know the church, the doctrine, and stances on social issues then you shouldn't be surprised when it does happen.

There are plenty of Methodist and Episcopalian churches where this couple would be welcomed and celebrated.

If I were his parent, I would have WAY more issues with him dating someone that could be his grandpa than I would him dating a dude...
If my DAUGHTER was 23 and started dating Drew Carey's dad there, I'd be ready to call in an exorcist as well.
