Doesn't look like it. Looks like it could be ready for summer practices.

Why do we still need the skywalk with the tunnel that was built with the stadium?

Connecting GIA to BPS and then across the street to the IPF.

Limited to coaches/athletes and high-end Posse donors only.

That's why I'm calling it the Boone Walk.

I thought they were going to use big orange tubes like the ones you use for hamsters.

Both facilities look great. Thanks for the photos. OSU continues to be on its way UP. Never been more proud to be an OSU alum.

Come on guys. There is no tunnel and no skyway. Who needs that garbage when you can have nautical jet packs! :runaway:

Now we just have to raise the money to turn Hall of Fame into a canal!

Okay, I have a dumb question. If my information is correct there will not be any air conditioning for the practice facility. If so, with that much glass, how hot will that building get in august? That thing will have to be unbearable.

The official opening of the IPF will be August 1st. There are a few reasons it is taking so long (for us fans, this is the timeline set out so they are not behind) one is that they want to open both the IPF and the outdoor fields at the same time. The turf used ( experimental turf developed here at OSU ) has to be in place a full two years before it can be used. Second, it is very difficult to get a lot of workers and equipment into that area at the same time, they don;lt want to comprimise safety. And, the original donation made by Sherman Smith was for an endowement which was to be used to cover the operating expenses of the facility. Coach Holder asked the Smith family if the money could be used for construction instead and they agreed. The $20 million has been removed from the endowement and transferred to OSU in payments, not one lump sum.

Another reason for the long schedule is cost IMO. There really wasn't an overwhelming need to finish it fast so crews were kept smaller and efficiency was higher.

Many thanks to OP 9000 for the updates. It is great to see so much activitiy.

In one of the pictures it also looked like there are some huge industrial fans to blow hot air out of the top which will keep air circulating pretty well through there I imagine. With many of our games being played in > 90* weather, our players don't need to be practicing in 70* air conditioning in August. This is not the NFL, college football should still have some degree of toughness to it.

P.S. I think it looks freaking awesome.
