Cowgirl Basketball Recruits

An earlier poster or an article alluded to OSU Womens Basketball either signing or highly recruiting 2 girls this spring. One was a JUCO. Does anyone know who these girls are and where they are from or stats? I am NOT including the young lady from Utah that signed in October, that is ranked as one of the top 20 high school girls in the nation.

Looking at some of the twitter traffic, it seems Brittany Atkins is a HS girl they are bringing in. Krystal Fowler seems to be a JUCO that seems to be coming to Stillwater. I believe May 16th is the last day of the spring signing period. If they are, in fact, coming to Stillwater I would think there would be an announcement around that time.
OSU is in on some highly touted recruits in the 2013 class, unfortunately Jessica Washington of Jenks just gave her verbal to UNC.

This Brittany Atkins? I could be down with that.

She's the one. There are videos of her team on YouTube.

She's supposed to be good at getting to the rim and finishing. She comes across as very confident in interviews.

They added the shooters in the last class (Schultz and Donohoe). I said I hoped they would add a slasher with some attitude in this class, and I think they might have one now.

No. 13 Jessica Jackson trims her listJessica Jackson of Jacksonville, Ark., has trimmed her schools of interest. The 6-foot-3 forward said her finalists are Arkansas, Baylor, Georgia, Kentucky, Miami, Oklahoma State, Texas and Texas A&M.

Jackson, who is the No. 13 prospect in the ESPN HoopGurlz Super 60 for the junior class, plays for the Arkansas Mavericks club team.

I was at Karsten Creek this past Saturday afternoon (May 19th) and saw a tall girl wearing what appeared to be McDonald's logo shorts. She was accompanied by an entourage of people wearing OSU clothing. My initial thought was that she was a women's basketball recruit. Can anyone confirm/deny who I might have saw?

How tall?

Not sure, I wasn't standing next to her & tried not to stare too hard. If I had to make a wild, ballpark guess...maybe 6 foot?

I'm ready for a press release. This wait is driving me crazy.

It seems I was incorrect regarding Fowler.
Now, if we can just get a press release on these girls that joined. I want to hear what the coaches have to say about them all.

From looking at the roster, there are only 2 Freshmen. one 5"-10" and one 6'.

Brittney Martin 6'-0" guard from Syracuse, Utah

Brittney Martin was widely considered a top twenty NATIONAL player this year, before signing with OSU, and then the McDonald's voters decided that she must not be that good if she signed with OSU. It was truly a travesty. But from everything I have been told, she can flat out play! Have NOT heard anything specific about her game/style.

I was very excited to see Morgan Toben (6'3" soph. forward) on the roster.

She is from Owasso (class of 2010) where she set the school record for three-pointers in a game with six.

She signed with New Mexico and played one season with the Lobos before they fired the coach. In one game she hit 5 of 9 three-pointers for 15 points. She described her role with the Lobos as a tall shooting guard.

Then she transferred to OSU last year and didn't join the team. I was afraid she had given up the sport. I'm glad that wasn't the case. She should be able to play immediately.

Brittany Atkins had originally signed with UMKC. Then OSU hired UMKC head coach Candice Whitaker and Atkins followed her.

I think it's cool that 8 of the 12 Cowgirls are from the state of Oklahoma.

Lakota Beatty (Anadarko, OK) will join Katelyn Loecker (Kansas Gatorade player of the year) in the 2013 class. She posted it on twitter less than an hour ago.

Mikayla Reese (2014) verbally committed as reported in another thread. There was also a WBB recruiting person on twitter report OSU received 2 Texas commitments in the class of 2013. Anyone know who? I could not find it anywhere.

Also, it appears Beatty was injured recently. She tweeted she would be getting her MRI results today. Hoping for a full and speedy recovery.
