Welcome to High Noon Highlights, a place to catch up on everything you missed in Oklahoma State Athletics and beyond!

It’s high noon...

Position outlook- Cowboy Backs:

The O’Colly’s Ryan Novozinsky gave a solid preview of one of the most interesting position for the 2020 Cowboys.

Woods, who will most likely be the starter this season, has excellent size and blocking ability. At 6-foot-7 and 276 pounds, Woods possesses a surprising amount of athleticism for his frame. This, mixed in with his strength, allows him to easily seal the edge, check the defensive end and thrive in blocking on the second level.

All of this is combined with precise route running, good hands and quickness makes him a viable threat in the passing game— if new offensive coordinator Kasey Dunn’s offense includes this in the game plan. {O’Colly}

Cowgirl Soccer well represented on preseason poll:

Cowgirl FC has some hype ahead of their season with quite a few players on the All Big-12 preseason team.

The Big 12 Conference has announced the 2020 Preseason All-Big 12 Soccer team, as voted by the league’s head coaches. Oklahoma State and Texas Tech paced the 11-person squad with three honorees each. {Big 12}

James Washington activated for Steelers:

Former Oklahoma State WR James Washington is back on the Steelers after going on the COVID-19 reserve list. \

To make room on the roster for Washington, the team released linebacker John Houston, an undrafted rookie free agent from USC who was signed after the 2020 NFL Draft.

The reserve/COVID-19 list was created for a player who either tests positive for COVID-19 or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person(s). If a player falls into either of these categories, their club is required to immediately place the player on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Per agreed upon NFL-NFLPA policy, clubs are not permitted to comment on player’s medical status other than referring to roster status. Clubs may not disclose whether player is in quarantine or is positive for COVID 19. {Steelers.com}
