He needed to get out. They weren't letting him work the big games, weren't putting him on College Basketball Gameday, and he was 3rd or worse on the raido pecking list. All around he's too good not to be featured.

I hope the move works for Doug. I will be looking for his analysis on CBS.

I'm wondering if Jalen Rose getting the Gameday gig is the final cause or first effect of Doug leaving.

Will the Tulsa animal still be sporting news radio?

I didn't realize there was so much hate for ESPN out there. Is it mostly because of this last football season? I'm not a huge fan of their politics, but I still think they are my best resource for sports at the moment. However, CBS and NBC making pushes to catch up in some areas could be interesting. I still don't think anything will top SportsCenter. But I've been wrong before.

They are I still like ESPN in general. I get a little ticked off at them for their SEC lovefest last season and most seasons. It's ridiculous. Other than that they are good.

I was a bit surprised the Big 12 made its renewal deal. It seemed to me that the others were making big pushes and it might make sense to hold out a bit on ESPN.

The only 'talent' Erin Andrews had was dancing in her hotel room and what she looked like from behind in a pair of tight pants.

Her on air skills were/are marginal at best.

I think it's more that they have a monopoly over the sports media. And everybody usually wants a second option but that doesn't exist right now. But as CBS and NBC build up their networks hopefully that will change. And you're right, I'm not sure anything will top SportsCenter. At least not for a while.

I just get sick of ESPN beating every story to death and also making stories out of nothing (Tebow, Jeremy Lin). Then they use the "the numbers show that people tune in to hear us talk about Tebow, Lin, etc.." Yeah, well more people tune in to Real Housewives of Portland rather than Community, Parks & Rec., etc. Doesn't mean it's better quality. Just means people tune it to watch trash.

I think, in general, people really like to dislike things.

One of the big things for DG is he gets to move from Bristol back to the Orange County area where he grew up.

That is why a lot of ESPN's talent ends up leaving. They get sick of having to live in the Bristol area.
