It's either showboating or mocking...either way, its a classless thing to do. I can't understand why these chicks didn't take a fastball in the ribs next time up.

I would be willing to bet that she had no intention of mocking the OSU plane crashes. If I was the Cowgirls I would be more worried about getting run ruled.

Next some people will be upset by real airplanes flying over Stillwater mocking us.

All 3 of their players who homered did it.

This isn't clever or funny or witty, or anything besides stupid. Sorry.

I hate the sooners just like any of us; however, they did nothing wrong here except pound us to the point they ended the game early.

No need to apologize, except maybe for starting this thread in the main forum.

So if I don't need to apologize, you already knew your statement was stupid when you posted it. That explains a lot.

Have you never played baseball or softball? What the ou players did normally, at a minimum, gets them hit with a fastball next time up; often a stunt like that starts a fight. Whether it was mocking a plane crash or not, it was a classless move, and I am disappointed that our girl didn't plunk some hitters after it happened.

Unless if it was a walk-off HR...what is the point of having the entire team waiting for her at the home plate?

She break a record or something?

It's annoying, but I don't think it has anything to do with anything. I'd say the solution is to quit throwing meatballs.

I also highly doubt they were mocking the plane crash.

Wow, never seen so many apologists for douchebaggery. It was low class, plain and simple.

Surely you do not think run-ruling someone is wrong ? I also don't think it was mocking the plane crash either, I have seen players do this move before.

Nah, definitely not faulting them for run ruling us. Was just saying that I'm sure the team/fans should be less worried about the home run celebrations and more worried about how they played.

I also would have no problem if one of our pitchers hit one of the players with the excessive celebration next time they played. Not sure about softball but we all know that is how it works in baseball.

All I was really saying was that I don't believe they were actually mocking the plane crashes with the celebrations and I thought the original post was a little hypersensitive to that. Anything resembling an airplane reference is not necessarily mocking those we lost. Not trying to get into name calling or anything.

Overboard and deserving to be hit by a pitch yes, mocking no.

Doesn't look good. Probably never gave it a thought though and was simply a natural reaction that had nothing to do with the OSU tragedy.

Women's softball is an animal all to itself. All teams have some of the quirkiest handshakes, rituals, etc. OU always does the airplane thing, no matter who they play. And everyone let's it go, because they have their own celebrations.

Most all teams gather at the plate for a home run, too. Why, I have no idea.

Girls will be girls, I suppose.

If they do the airplane thing for every game then it was obviously not meant to specifically target OSU. Nothing to see here...

Had nothing to do with plane crash. "zooming" around the bases is old. Well before plane crash. I think Texas Tech invented it though ;-)

After this if it's reached them I would suggest they not do it in the future.
