The worst industrial accident in US history was the 1947 Texas City explosion caused by 2,300 tons of ammo nitrate

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_City_disaster

At 9:12 a.m., the ammonium nitrate reached an explosive threshold from the combination of heat and pressure.[7] The vessel detonated, causing great destruction and damage throughout the port. The tremendous blast produced a 15-foot (4.5 m) wave that was detectable nearly 100 miles (160 km) from the Texas shoreline. The blast leveled nearly 1,000 buildings on land. The Grandcamp explosion destroyed the Monsanto Chemical Company plant and resulted in ignition of refineries and chemical tanks on the waterfront. Falling bales of burning twine from the ship's cargo added to the damage, and the Grandcamp's anchor was hurled across the city. Two sightseeing airplanes flying nearby were blown out of the sky [8], while 10 miles (16 km) away, half of the windows in Galveston were shattered.[9] The explosion blew almost 6,350 short tons (5,760 metric tons) of the ship's steel into the air, some at supersonic speed. Official casualty estimates came to a total of 567, including all the crewmen who remained aboard the Grandcamp. All but one member of the 28-man Texas City volunteer fire department were killed in the initial explosion on the docks while fighting the shipboard fire. With fires raging throughout Texas City, first responders from other areas were initially unable to reach the site of the disaster.

In your quest to follow me around and desperately try to discredit anything I post you really expose your own bias and shortsighted understanding of geopolitical politics.

The court of public opinion is very much strong and can lead to actionable offense by the public and it is driven by social media in these countries. These types of messages on social media lead to a public who is very much vocal and violent when compared to western civil unrest. The misinformation on social media in which they put faith leaves it impossible for some countries/organizations/etc to participate in recovery or aid missions because the public fooled by misinformation on social media will hurt, harm, destroy anything associated with that country.

I would argue that in many developing, oppressed, and for some persecuted groups through out the world, Twitter is the only unfiltered lens in which to see the truth of what is actually occurring in real time. Especially in times of disaster.

It puts the power of truth into everyday normal citizens hands and doesn't deal with some polished BS story from some regime controlling a country.

This is VERY POWERFUL. However, in that same exact instance, it provides everything just he opposite and vile. I see it as both a blessing and a curse

I see it as a curse. because of the bad apples - you cannot believe or trust any of the good apples.

not from conventional weapons that is for sure..and not a nuke so the whole 2700 tons of Ammo Nitrate exploding that was supposed to be destroyed by the govt story is holding up.

The PM said that he would make sure every official who should have destroyed that stuff since it was put into storage in 2013 would pay the ultimate price for not getting rid of it
