There is a slight bit of method to my madness but mostly its just showing up...

Ducks Unlimited events are a great place to score swag. The beer is always free....you get your annual membership as part of the ticket and they always give away guns. They also raffle off items and the money you spend is tax decuctible. In my experience the cool stuff goes under market and the everyday goes over. Example...at the NRA event a $1500 Benelli rifle went for $800 bucks....a Daisy Red Rider went for $225.

Anyway I'm willing to bet there is a DU event near you I encourage you to check it out....good cause good time.

I am the commitee chairman of our local DU chapter. What he says is true. DU events are lots of fun and the money spent there is a writeoff. Check out your local chapter.
If you've never shot a Kimber .45, you'll love it. If you have, you know what i mean.

Just found out yesterday that I'll be off and heading that way for UT, but I'd already sold my tickets. The wife kinda wants to take the kids out to trick or treat, but I'd like to go up there even if it's just to tailgate or go to Joe's. So we'll see.

Damn. You'll be in Stillwater and I'll be in Barcelona. We'll have slingbox in order to watch the game but it won't come on until after 2:00 am local time so I may have to rely on what's on the internet Sunday morning when I get up.

Well that sucks. Barcelona is cool though. Spent some time there with an American girl that I met in Paris. I felt like Hemmingway.

So when you say "won" you mean that you out bid everyone in the live and/or silent auction or won in a raffle? My guess is all of the above, and I am certain you paid less than market for most of them.

However, I won a Ruger .380 LCP a couple months ago. Still need to find a Saturday to go take the concealed carry class but between hunting, football games, and baby showers(having our first in Jan.), I am pretty booked up. That pistol is tiny and packs a punch!
