TOM: @LDR I can take shots at us, but we have you ranked higher than anyone.

He meant 'any' entity - Rivals, Scout, etc..

And why do players care so much about what they are ranked? Especially if they are already committed to a program. They should already know how biased that crap is... Haters Gunna Hate

I would say he wants to be ranked higher because he wants to be considered the best out there.

The same reason people care about what their job title is or how much they are paid.

It is a ranking that is based upon your abilities...it should matter otherwise you probably aren't very competitive. It shouldn't be the end of the world but it should be a motivating factors

But they don't get paid and their ranking has no bearing on their actual job (scoring points).

Same reason you are tying to win an argument over the internet, ego (which isn't necessarily a bad thing).

I have no problem with this mindset, however, I don't see the need for announcing it on twitter. The best athletes play with this type of mindset, but they don't need to vocal it out for everyone to hear. Not knocking the kid though; everyone has their own way of expressions I guess *shrugs*

They want to be the best at what they do. I feel like there are articles every so often about how players want to be the number 1 recruit. It is the same idea how LDR wanted the MVP at Elite 11. He wants to be the best.

Why is he tweeting to players? I swear I hate most all "analysts" at ESPN ...except Rece Davis (he's awesome).

I hate Luginbell, he is arrogant even though he is wrong most of the time. He says some of the dumbest things and gets proven wrong over and over again, yet he is still stuck up.

He can't even keep his enormous ego in check and had to go and respond to a player's tweet. I think that is very unprofessional, but I've come to expect it from the guy.
