NO NEW TARIFFS: TRUMP WINS TRADE BATTLE WITH CHINA

U.S. President Donald Trump was able to extract a number of concessions from Chinese President Xi Jinping in exchange for not imposing any new tariffs on Chinese goods.
Trump reached a major agreement while meeting with the world’s top leaders over the weekend. At the G-20 summit in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Trump and Xi spoke for two and a half hours Saturday night — an hour longer than previously scheduled. The meeting, which Trump called “amazing and productive,” has temporarily staved off an escalating trade battle between the world’s two biggest economies.
Xi agreed to immediately begin buying more agricultural products from American farmers, along with a pledge to purchase more industrial and energy products. While the specifics of the trade agreements have not been announced, the White House says the deal will help correct the trade imbalance between China and the U.S. Xi has also agreed to a number of cybersecurity and property theft concessions
Additionally, China has also agreed to label the opioid fentanyl as a controlled substance, making anyone who sells fentanyl to the U.S. subjected to harsher penalties under Chinese law. The labeling will help the federal government as it fights an historic death rate from opioid overdose.
“This was an amazing and productive meeting with unlimited possibilities for both the United States and China. It is my great honor to be working with President Xi,” Trump said in a statement Thursday.
In return, Trump has pledged to postpone a tariff increase on Chinese goods for at least 90 days. The U.S. previously intended to hike tariffs to 25 percent on $200 billion worth of Chinese goods beginning Jan. 1. Instead, U.S. officials will use the 90-day wait period to further negotiate with their Chinese counterparts. (RELATED: Report: China Is Picking Up The Tab For Trump’s Trade War)

Such a move will help Chinese producers who have been hit hard with Trump-led tariffs.
The White House slapped the Communist country with a 10 percent levy on $200 billion worth of goods on Sept. 24. American retailers have since had to adjust and dozens of Chinese manufacturers have reported a dip in sales. Trump went on to repeatedly threaten an increase to these tariffs.
Amid the 2016 campaign, Trump promised to correct the unfair trade imbalance between China and U.S., telling supporters that Americans were being taken advantage of with “very stupid” trade deals.

He speaks like a moron so, naturally, people will assume he's a moron. He should fix that if he wants people to not think he's a moron. Very simple.

Might want to see this before we declare victory.

FWIW I'm a commodity trader so this is a thing that affects me personally. I'd love normalized trade with China if it means they start taking vessels of soybeans to keep domestic stocks tight. And honestly for my gripes about Trump I don't mind him sticking it to China. As a trading partner they are the worst and I will celebrate anything to make an even playing field with them. But I don't see how a 2 hr meeting erases the conflict. Hope it works for us but I need to see the details

Barry was a good schmoozy speaker but he was the most corrupt president of my lifetime.
Irrelevant to what was said and I was no fan of Obama.

Trump speaks like a moron...leading to people thinking he's a moron. If, in fact, he's not a moron, it should be easy to not speak like one.

But he has "the best words".

Anyone on the left who can't stand Trump, and I get where you're coming from, you only have yourselves to blame for nominating someone even less electable than Trump.

Absolutely, but they'd never admit it.

Oh I do? Please give an example of anything I said that would lead you to believe that.

I'd like the leader of my country to sound like an educated adult. It's really not more complicated than that.

But when Spartacus Booker, Kamala-toe Harris, or Wampum Warren speak it's orgasms for all just basking in the brilliance of their words?

Lol!! So much hate for so much winning! You clowns are a joke.
The funny thing is if we pulled them out of a cave of which they had been in for a year and then put these things in front of they for their opinion without any names or political party affiliated with it, they would be in favor of most of these things.

Who didn't vote for this candidate for President of the United States?

"When countries break the rules, we won't hesitate to impose targeted tariffs. China and other countries have gamed the system for too long. I'll ramp up the U.S. team that monitors trade. I'm going to ramp up enforcement by appointing a new chief trade prosecutor, tripling the number of enforcement officers."

That is true, but what about those of us in the middle who didn't like or vote for either party's nominee?
