    5. Oklahoma — Seven Major Infractions: Barry Switzer inherited a program on probation — it forfeited nine games from the 1972 season because of violations that resulted from the alteration of players’ transcripts — and left it on probation in 1988. The Sooners had garnered the reputation of being an outlaw program in the 1980s. During one rough patch, a shooting and rape occurred in an athletic dorm, a player attempted to sell drugs to undercover agent, and a player robbed Switzer’s home. The latter player probably didn’t receive person checks from Switzer, scalped game tickets, free airline tickets, or a boatload of money from a bidding war during his recruitment. All of that happened, and it resulted in a two-year bowl ban, a one-year live television ban and recruiting restrictions. More recently, Oklahoma’s basketball program was penalized when former basketball coach Kelvin Sampson, the same guy who later crippled the Indiana basketball program due to unethical recruiting practices, made 550 illegal calls to 17 different recruits.

What is your purpose in life? Hypothetical, if you saw an innocent man being attacked in an alley, what would be your first response?

Well, your logic fits that of the OU gooner(non-alumni, T-shirt wearers) very well.

OP came in here not long ago and was dropping some bombs himself. I'm almost certain he said poor language was okay in this forum at that time as well. Sorry if I went over the line though. Obvious trolls bother me.

This was back in the day when EVERYONE was cheating. Oklahoma State was just as guilty, they're guilty of 4 major infractions one of which was registered just shy of SMU's death penalty infraction.

Sampson was a tool and he's been a cancer everywhere he went.

We've been over the cheating thing before. It happens. It's happened at Oklahoma, it's happened at Oklahoma State. Just because one person has "Person A" has killed 7 people and "Person B" has only killed 4, does that make "Person A" the most guilty of the two parties?

Cheating is only brought up when the bottom of the barrel has been scraped. What's next, pointing out grammatical or punctional errors?

It's the bottom of your barrel because it is the cost of winning at okie u. Only cheaters continue to cheat, the others learn and play by the rules. Gotta be a real bitter pill to swallow for you to see the success at OSU knowing you have bent or broken every rule you can and still can't be #1 in the state every day. Life just ain't fair, eh toadie.

    Oklahoma cheated. Oklahoma won.

Oklahoma State cheated. Oklahoma State lost.

The game isn't over. Oklahoma can still take that top ranking in the state away from Oklahoma State.

And if Oklahoma State succeeds... IF....

There's a first time for everything.

"He's a junior, 6'1, 200 lbs. and can move when he needs to. He's got 3 rushing touchdowns on the year. He scrambles by necessity, not by design.

The Tech game was a complete abbaration when a bunch of different elements came together to create a perfect storm. TONS of things went wrong during that game. It wasn't just one thing."

Reality is that Texas Tech is 5-3. They got beat by ISU 41-7.

You are delusional because you think it takes a perfect storm which combines of a "bunch of different elements" that all come together at the exact time to beat OU.

You are the delusional one. No one is trying to hide Oklahoma State's football history but the problem is - we aren't living in the past! We are living in reality.

It doesn't take the aligning of the stars to beat OU. Tech showed that to the world on OU's turf.

You are right - there is a first time for everything. It won't be the last either.

I love hearing and seeing the fear of all the gooner fans that one day very soon - OU may not be the "dominant" program in the state. The gap is closing and closing fast.

OSU has already shown they can win a bunch of games in the Big 12. The only hurdle left is beating OU year-in and year-out. You may believe you will continue your historical dominance but you also probably believe that drinking natty lite and watching OU football outside your trailer is the, "high life".

    Fear?

Why fear something when it hasn't happened? Oklahoma isn't going anywhere. They're recruiting just as well as they always have. We have depth at the QB position. We get a new Heisman candidate in that position on an extremely regular basis. There's symmetry there. Regularity.

Oklahoma State just had a double digit win season last year, and finally got over .500 in the win column ALL-TIME after 100 years of having a football program.

After Weeden "retires", do you really think there's going to be another dominate guy to replace him. It took a 28 year old Super Senior to get you guys to a winning track.

Is that a formula you guys are going to use every time?

The fact that you are obsessing over OSU's recent success and pairing it with a past that is irrelevant to now, mixed with the idea that you hope to suppress any osu fan's excitement over it's accomplishments indicates fear to me.

I give you the difference between satiation and deprivation. Our fans are ecstatic that we are winning and getting national exposure. You, specifically, cannot stand it and want to try to remind everyone of pointless stats or records which hold nothing with today's program.

You do fear OSU. You have to remember though, even if you've built your life on the success of an academic institution, that holds nothing for your success in life. You can be successful in life without sports.

    Fear?
For someone who likes looking up words in the dictionary, I would figure you would do so on this doozy of a word!

Fear - distressing negative sensation induced by a perceived threat.
OSU is the perceived threat and the success of OSU's football program is the exact reason why you are on this boarding claiming OU will dominate OSU because well they have done so in the past.

Why fear something when it hasn't happened? Oklahoma isn't going anywhere. They're recruiting just as well as they always have. We have depth at the QB position. We get a new Heisman candidate in that position on an extremely regular basis. There's symmetry there. Regularity.

No one is saying OU is going to drop off the map. Just that OSU will now give OU a run for their money year in and year out.

Oklahoma State just had a double digit win season last year, and finally got over .500 in the win column ALL-TIME after 100 years of having a football program.
So we won't ever be consistently good because we haven't been consistently good for the past 100 years? Check your logic at the door.

After Weeden "retires", do you really think there's going to be another dominate guy to replace him. It took a 28 year old Super Senior to get you guys to a winning track.

Go look at Gundy's record. Go look at OSU's regular season record vs OU's the past 3 years. OSU has a better record than OU. The only thing we have yet to accomplish is beat OU. That day and time will come. That I am sure of. If we beat OU the last 2 years - we are in the Big 12 Championship game. This year will be the same and I personally think we do it.

Weeden is a great QB but we will have 2 top rated QB's on our roster next year and our current 2nd string QB in Chelf who has gotten to play in many of our games this year. To say that we will never be this good again is ignorant on your part. People said the same thing when Robinson and Dez left. Now they will say this when Weeden and Blackmon leave. Believe whatever you want you delusional goon but we aren't leaving!
Is that a formula you guys are going to use every time?
If by formula you mean reload year after year then yes...I would hope so!

    Fear? Hardly.

It's just another program that needs to be smacked down to size. It happens routinely. Nebraska was a great rival for a long while, K State had some dominate times, Mizzou was that way for a while when Chase was there, and most recently Oklahoma State is crawling up.

The main focus here is regularity.

Oklahoma has been the regular one. Oklahoma State has not attained success YET, so to say that you fear something that is not a continuing threat. Oklahoma State is no where near being a fear.

The only game that I "fear" is the Red River Shootout. I look forward to Bedlam, because Oklahoma State hasn't established themselves as a long term continuous threat.

There's fear and then there's a bullet point on an agenda. All Oklahoma State is right now is a bullet point on an agenda, they haven't proven anything other than they're a little better this year than they have been in the past.
