Amid crazy sanctions and a pandemic, the most highly anticipated Cowboy basketball team has arrived on campus.

Cade Cunningham and the rest of No. 4 recruiting class joined Oklahoma State’s returners in Stillwater as the group prepares for the upcoming season.

The team will go through COVID-19 testing on Monday. If anyone tests positive, they will then enter quarantine. On Tuesday, those who test negatively for COVID will get physicals and other paperwork done.

The Cowboys can begin voluntary strength and conditioning workouts July 6, and can start their standard 12-hour calendar (eight hours strength and conditioning, four hours on-court) starting July 20.

“With out being able to get into too many specifics, I do know that that’s the first priority of our staff and our administration is to make sure that our players, our staff are in a safe environment where we can still continue to work together and get better and put ourselves in a position to have a season sometime this winter,” OSU coach Mike Boynton said last week. “… At the end of the day, my job is to go out there and love on these guys and coach a little bit of basketball, but I don’t make medical decisions.”

Cunningham has spent much of the quarantine working out with Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe in Texas. Cunningham posted a video to his Instagram this weekend of he, Moncrieffe and Montreal Pena together in a car full of belongings headed up.

Ferron Flavors flew in Sunday, the same day Donovan Williams made the drive down from Lincoln, Nebraska. And Rondel Walker made the short drive up from the OKC metro.

The only player expected to be on the Cowboys’ roster next season who isn’t in town yet is Ole Miss transfer Bryce Williams. However, he is expected to join the team soon.
