Considering I spend so much time sharing thoughts and opinions on here about OSU recruiting, I just could not contain my excitement and figured I would share it with my fellow Pokes something a little different on the "recruiting" forum:
Our kids tend to make us happy, but today mine made me happier than usual. My daughter (high school freshman) gave her verbal commitment to coach Charmicael and the Cowgirls soccer program! She is the youngest commitment they have ever received to what is turning into a GREAT program. When I asked her why so early...."dad, if I kept letting everone else recruit and offer me I would just be wasteing my time and theirs. This is MY Notre Dame or North Carolina."
We all go back and forth over what FB or BB player is next to commit, and while I understand OSU Soccer is not high on everyone's list, its a huge deal for us and our daughter's future! ORANGE!!! Thanks for letting me beam with orange pride even if just for a minute!

Thanks folks! I honestly wondered if anyone would even read it once it started talking about women's soccer. I am so happy that there are so many people like our family who would support a checkers team if one existed as long as they were wearing OSU Orange!! Thanks again, my daughter is going to be stunned by this when I show it to her and it will only validate her decision to an even higher level. Proud to be a Poke!!

Congrats but you are going to have to remind me in 4 years that she is your daughter. She is a better person that me because I would have been taking the free trips to Duke and UNC and wasted everyone's time and money.
What position does she play? Any other girls from club or school team that she can help recruit?
    Congrats again

Our OSU staff does a great job recruiting, and there was a mention of wearing the gear and playing hard to promote......Not just here but nationally when she plays in Nike and Olympic Development events going forward.....I think thats pretty common because the same happened with her.

    Cool stuff, congrats :)

I'd love to see more mens college teams in the south, the Big 12 and SEC are I believe the only major conferences that don't have mens programs while Texas has some of the best youth programs in the country.

Yes, but that just hurts the recruiting base, because the really good players don't go to college ;)
