"Thousands" is 2901 illegal aliens. When there are 11,000,000 of them, I suppose that it "more" than prior, but close enough to "doing nothing" for most of us. Percentages of miniscule numbers are worthless.

guess you missed the part with the record 400,000 deportations ??

The 2901 were arrest of illegal aliens accused of commiting crimes in the past or who were fugitives from the law....not just your normal everyday illegal

This operation took illegal convicts or fugatives from 56 different countries

3000 illegal convicts and fugatives removed from the streets and an additional 400,000 illegals deported.....thats a good start

you have to look at the other numbers too Cim

2007.....268,444 total.....of those illegals 68,025 were newly arrested...37,452 were undergoing deportation proceedings, 8,877 were deported......19,214 re-entered the US

2008....294,218 total...of those illegals 95,804 were newly arrested....46,445 were undergoing deportation proceedings, 40,816 were deported..........29,512 re-entered the US

    2009...295, 959 total...of those illegals 108,154 were newly arrested....50,143 were undergoing deportation proceedings, 75,030 were deported.......27,337 re-entered the US

2010...unpublished total...of those illegals 125,943 were newly arrested...64,082 were undergoing deportation proceedings, 78,690 were deported.....17,797 re-entered the US

From 2007-2010 through our justice system dealing with illegals
Arrest of Illegal Aliens increased by 85%
Deportation proceedings for illegals increased by 71%
Deportations increased from 9,000 in 2007 to 79,000 in 2010....an increase of 7 fold

Based on the info of 249,000 illegal criminal aliens...prior to 2005 the average illegal alien was had offenses or was arrested 13 seperate times before being deported..or a total of 2.9 MILLION arrest of criminal aliens before deportation.

post 2007 the avg criminal alien was arrested 7 times before being deported or a total of 1.7 million arrest of criminal aliens before deportation...a reduction of 1 million arrest and processing, housing etc saving the tax payers millions

in 2005 the Federal Govt reimbursed states through the SCAAP program for $1.5 Billion ....in 2010 they reimbursed states for SCAAP for $1.3 Billion...AFTER a 15% increase in cost....still $200 million cheaper than in 2005...From 2005-2008 SCAAP reimbursements to states increased by 5%

We could save a lot of $$$ if we outsource their criminal trials to the Cherokee Tribe before deporting them. We could convert the cost of damages by the criminals into horse or mule values. Lashes are cheaper than keeping them in prison.

    http://digital.library.okstate.edu/chronicles/v006/v006p178.html
"Council, That, any person who shall be convicted of stealing a horse, mule, jack, or jenny, shall be punished by not less than “one hundred lashes” on the bare back, and be compelled to make payment to the amount of damages or injury sustained, if such stolen property be not restored, for the benefit of the party so injured."
