Just heard another interview (literally 5 min ago) if the 49 'insider' is to be believed, Hunter ain't going nowhere, Dixon - out unless he beats out Jacobs, Jacobs - short yardage inside 5yd line, Gore - aging but starting, Hunter - 1st back up, James - scat back (assuming he catches the ball well), 3rd down back (see previous note), primary pr / some kr. Again I don't know anyone but I listen really well ;)

Gore is the established player, but does not have a long term contract. I think they are preparing to dump him if he wants too much money on his next contract. He will be looking for a big payday and the niners are hoping they have found their replacement in Hunter or James.

I thought Gore held out last year and signed quickly when it became apparent Kendall
    Is a baller.

KH isn't going anywhere. If anything, Jacobs or Dixon will be traded or request to be traded. Dixon hasn't been mega impressive to be completely honest. I like the kid, but he doesn't have 'it', that KH and the rest do. Never been a huge Jacobs fan, so we will see where that goes. James might be a specific role player/kick returner type. He's shifty as hell, and pretty quick. If he can hold onto the ball, we might be in luck this year :D

I think Kendall is pretty safe in SF, although a safe RB in the NFL is still a pretty precarious position. Competition is always good. I've seen this from a lot of teams lately with the dearth of average backs in the league. Bring in some veterans and some rookies and push your starters. That said, Kendall proved himself last year and Gore is one bad hit away from a career ending injury. Seems like it would be mad for the niners to let him go.

I think its more of a problem for Teddy Ginn and the Williams kid. Hunter is better built for the NFL than James.

Ill Bite. This is not good for Hunter. Having Frank Gore, Brandon Jacobs, and now James? some one has got to go...

    Hardcore Niner fan here:

Dixon is a big back that plays small, much like Jacobs. One of them will be gone after camp. Hunter is fine, they wanted an "explosive" playmaker for red zone plays. Last year we were terrible in the red zone and Akers set a record for most FG in a season. James is quick, catches the ball really well. Plus, as stated above, He will really help out on special teams.

Gore isn't getting any younger, he needs to lighten his load as far as carries are concerned. The team has just about everyone back from last year, so it's not like there are a bunch of holes to fill either. I like the pick.

Do the Giants win the Super Bowl and then just trade everyone away to make it harder the next time?

I was reading some Manningham tweets the other day, and he re-tweeted a comment someone sent him about being a sellout and only cared abuot the money, not the team. He was a FA, and NYG didn't offer anything worthwhile. Crackheads lol
