Might get a little payback for the beating the Pokes put on Iowa last year...

125: #4 Nick Piccininni (Sr) vs #1 Spencer Lee (Jr)
133: #18 Reece Witcraft (Fr) vs #2 Austin DeSanto (Jr)
141: #20 Dusty Hone (Jr) vs #3 Max Murin (So)
149: #6 Boo Lewallen (Jr) vs #2 Pat Lugo (Sr)
157: #18 Wyatt Sheets (So) vs #4 Kaleb Young (Jr)
165: #7 Travis Wittlake (Fr) vs #2 Alex Marinelli (Jr)
174: #12 Joe Smith (Sr) vs #1 Michael Kemerer (Sr)
184: #15 Anthony Montalvo (Fr) vs #10 Abe Assad (Fr)
197: #16 Dakota Geer (Jr) vs #4 Jacob Warner (So)
HWT: Austin Harris (So) vs #3 Tony Cassioppi (Fr)

I think OSU can score 12 points in this dual. Some of these Iowa guys are overrated. But it'll mostly be a rough time for the Pokes.

This one is going to be a tough one, but I look forward to watching another Picc/Lee match up. Also excited to see some of the young guys compete against highly ranked, veteran opponents, specifically Wittcraft vs DeSanto and Wittlake vs Marinelli. 184 and 197 should be exciting and I could see an upset there. Hopefully we can compete well enough to give some guys confidence heading in to post season and build some momentum for next year.

Taco should win at 184. I also... My heart wants to pick Wittlake to beat Marinelli, but Marinelli has lost one regular season match in three years... So...

It's going to be interesting.

Man they are pretty young and talented. Ouch. Could be some humble pie for us.
Some of their guys are super overrated. DeSanto, Murin, Lugo, Young, and Warner are really low AA caliber guys... They've just had favorable schedules. You shouldn’t be surprised to see Witcraft, Hone, Boo, Sheets, Wittlake, Montalvo, and Geer win this weekend. It’s entirely possible.

And we could lose every one of them. It will be revealed as to the state of the storied Cowboy wrestling program.

I am really nervous about this weekend.

I think the state of the program is that we have likely the best pound for pound wrestler in the NCAA right now taking an olympic redshit, along with the best recruiting class in the country (including 2 of the top 3 recruits) coming in next season. Even with Daton, we wouldn't have been competing for a national championship this year, so this whole season is about development for next year and beyond. The experience gained this season for guys like Wittlake, Wittcraft, Montalvo, and Sheets will be invaluable going in to next year. Throw in the commitment to facilities upgrades and the future looks very very bright for OSU. If we can't topple Penn St in the next 3 years, we might just be out of luck until Cale retires.

Lee gets a single leg shot and finishes the takedown. 2-0 Lee with 2:15 left. Lee will likely ride out the period. Hope he doesn't get a tilt.
