I am accumulating a rather decent pile of parts for my off-road rig...

Bilstein 5100s, Dynastar rear spring spacer, Spidertrax 1.25” wheel spacers, and body mount chop got installed a couple weeks ago.

Coming up is 5 new TRD beadlock style 16s with custom pc’ed rings, BFG KO2 285/75r16’s, ARB Snorkel, 40” Rigid Radiance light bar getting mounted up top between the front rack legs, and a brand new white grille (because heritage) that’s going to get some amber Raptor style lighting as well. Plus some interior mounts (fire extinguisher and flashlight) and matte black hood anti-glare vinyl going on.

Think I need to cool it for a bit after this surge.

Any particular reason you chose Toyota over a Jeep Wrangler?

I have two really good buddies that own Jeeps... they both said had they had it to do over again, they would have gotten an FJ. They both hold resale well. The two door Rubi was too small and the four door Rubi was too big for my taste. The FJ is right in the middle. And the FJ reliability is better than the Rubicon. Plus ATRAC and crawl control features that Jeep doesn’t have.

I’m a 3rd generation GM loyalist. This is the first non-GM vehicle I’ve bought and owned, and I’ve loved every second with it.

Been trying to post a pic of the beater since I lowered it and replaced all the suspension stuff. Keeps saying pic is to large and I don't have a clue how to down size it.

When you figure it out let me know. I’d like to be able to send nudes to my girlfriend via text... but keep getting the same “too large” message. :eek:

Well dammit... been waiting since Tuesday to get it back. Had to pull the passenger side wheel well plastic to install the snorkel and you can't do that without breaking the factory push retainers/clips. Dealer has said they would be in each of the last three days. Still waiting. :(

Motor died in the beater, out goes the 391,000 mile 5.3. In place of it...

Iron block 5.7, forged rotating assembly
Ported 799 heads, manley valves
1 3/4" longtubes
Catless y pipe
Texas Speed stage 4 truck cam, .223/.226 .600/.600
Texas Speed cam kit
ATI balancer
Comp trunion upgrade

All the supporting mods basically. Going through the trans and beefing it up while the motor is out. Got a 3000-3200 circle d stall to go in it. Didn't want a huge cam for it since it is a truck. Should be pretty stout for what it is. Still can't figure out how to make the pic small enough to post.

Well, got the beater done. Ended up going with a 383 and a Texas speed 224/228 on a 114 lsa. Also got the newer tbss intake on with a 92mm tb. Heads were 243's instead of 799's, installed 48lb injectors in it. Still need to figure out how to downsize or shrink a file. Being computer stupid sucks.
