    Homecoming Festivities Canceled

I've often wondered what mechanism we could use to regulate this ever-increasing problem, but I like that idea.

    Homecoming Festivities Canceled

Meh. Their agenda is to make money. That's it. They've figured out (just like politicians) that it's easiest to market if you have only two sets of consumers instead of many. Now that they've successfully divided everyone into these nice, neat little sides, they can just hammer away at the...

    Covid-19

I can see this working in some offices, for sure. And it can kinda work in our office. But depending on the position in the company, the type of work you do, etc.... that space can need different things. Our line of work is also HIGHLY unpredictable, so trying to schedule anything on a weekly...

    Homecoming Festivities Canceled

lol So it's not problematic if a store receives 30% of it's yearly revenue during home football games, and those games don't happen, so the store has to operate at 70% of it's normal revenue? Not a big deal?

The cost of an ICU stay is a strawman. Let's focus on the cost of the treatment at hand.

    Covid-19

There's a guy in our OKC office that lives in Stroud, and started from home (back in 2014) 4 days a week and coming to the office once or as needed. Works really well for him, and I'm going to seek a similar setup in the next year. Probably the least efficient thing for the company, though...

    Covid-19

I'll admit that it's pretty cool. I was very apprehensive about it at first for a number of reasons, but it's turned out pretty well. Being busy has helped, and the screensharing/conferencing/communication tech is so good right now that it's made the transition pretty easy. Pros Better coffee...

    Covid-19

I moved to working from home in March, and have been more efficient here than in the office. It's the exact same work I was doing before, just at the house. It's definitely still work and not "work".

    Covid-19

I should have said that today I had a hard cider at lunch, then followed up with a good coffee. It'll be a mule with dinner, haha! The perks of working from home.

    Covid-19

I've been doing pourovers from EOTE whole bean (Byways blend). Luckily for me, I can do all the stuff I did before with a few adjustments. I brought both my monitors and tower home, and have done remote through VPN to our server. At some point I'll probably try to get a better home laptop...

    Covid-19

Nearly identical scenario for me. And we've been given the freedom to work from home or in the office as we see fit. Edit: Sipping on said way better coffee right now, actually.

    Covid-19

I really don't understand the timeframes that various organizations are putting in place. What do they think will be different one month from now? Reality is that we'll be dealing with this on a massive scale until we see some form of herd immunity, the virus randomly moves on from humans, or...

Huge Beirut explosion shatters windows across Lebanese capital

HOLY F^CK, that explosion was unbelievable.

    Who’s gonna watch?

Here's where capitalism will (hopefully) prove itself. If enough people lose interest in their product, then they'll have to adapt the product or risk failure. Ultimately these corporations are all about money, and alienating huge portions of their fanbase is not a winning strategy...

    Covid-19

When I see someone wearing full goggles and a DIY mask, I usually keep my distance; pandemic or otherwise.

Honestly, that's the perfect solution. Let individual business owners decide what they want and don't want in their establishments.

    Covid-19

You'll have to explain this to me. My perception is that the virus doesn't spread primarily through surfaces, so I don't see how poor mask hygiene could possibly be worse than no mask.

    Covid-19

Weird. Did I read like a week ago from someone with the State of Oklahoma that they had already processed all the backlog, and there was no issue? Does that mean we've generated that many in such a short time?

    Covid-19

    1. I think the medical professionals are kinda grasping at straws sometimes since they're figuring this thing out on the fly. I don't think there's any agenda other than just responding to the latest findings on the virus. 2. Media gonna media. They will literally do ANYTHING to increase...
