So here we are, 9-0 ranked 4th by Intermat, wrestling #16 (Dual) Lehigh on Sunday at 2:00 in GIA. We had a few hundred fans at the free to enter Columbia dual last Sunday, and I was really disappointed. I asked online how many people show up to Penn State or Iowa when they are wrestling nobodies and they said several thousand. How are we expected to be in the same conversation as Iowa and PSU when we only show up for big duals? It's on ESPN+ but WHO CARES. Go see them live!

In other news, wrestlers are falling all over the place, who knows what's going on with iowa and, if not for some mid season pickups by PSU (like an effing coach wrestling), it could have been anyone's year. Well one of about 4 teams at least. Certain orange colored glasses still BELIEVE, and while I can't say it's a definite no, I can say with certainty it's a long shot. But that why they play the games, amiright?

Lehigh is the 4 time defending EIWA champions and, like everyone so far this year, will give us about two or three really good matchups, and the rest we will be expected to win easily. They are 8-4 with their best win on January 8th against Cornell 18-15. A week later, they barely beat Columbia (20-16), who we just rolled, however. Lehigh did beat us last time we wrestled in November 2019, 21-20 so hopefully our guys are dialed in and ready for some payback. Here are the expected lineups:

125: #10 Trevor Mastrogiovanni (9-0) v. #19 Jaret Lane (10-4)
133: #1 Daton Fix (9-0) v. #15 Malyke Hines (8-3)
141: #38 Carter Young (5-2) v. #40 Connor McGonagle (4-4)
149: #10 Kaden Gfeller (7-1) v. #35 Manzona Bryant (5-5) or #143Paul Watkins (2-3)
157: #19 Wyatt Sheets (8-1) v. #5 Josh Humphries (12-1)
165: #8 Travis Wittlake (7-1) v. #35 Brian Meyer 9-6)
174: #13 Dustin Plott (8-0) v. #40 Jake Logan (7-8)
184: #10 Dakota Geer (8-1) v. #49 AJ Burkhart (7-8)
197: #1 AJ Ferrari (9-0) v. #72 JT Davis (5-8) or #77 Eli Jones (1-1)
285: #36 Luke Surber (7-2) v. #5 Jordan Wood (13-1)

At 125 Mastro needs to keep up his solid wrestling, and take care of business against the decent Junior, Jaret Lane. Lane recently lost to #25 Joe Manchio, 4-3, while Mastro majored him 8-0. Lane was a round of 16 guy last year, but Matro should beat him if he wants to be in the AA conversation.

Carter Young need to take care of McGonagle , but keep in mind McConagle did beat #14 Dresden Simon of Central Michigan at the beginning of the season and was a NCAA qualifier last year, so he's not terrible by any means.

Sheets and Humphries is looking like a great matchup. Humphries was injured last year, but was a R12 guy as a freshman in 2019. He has majored #14 Kaleb Young of Iowa and his only loss was at the Journeyman Classic 9-8 to #24 Doug Zapf of Penn. Sheets will have to have a great match to win here.

At 285, Surber will again have his hands full with Jordan Wood. Wood finished 4th in 2019 as a Sophomore, was ranked 6th in 2020 and underwhelmed losing in the R16 as a Senior last year. He's beaten almost everyone he's faced this year including #15 Zach Elam (2-1), #4 Matt Stencel (3-1 and 3-1) and #20 Gas Tank Gary Traub (4-0 and 4-3). His only loss is to #3 Anthony Cassioppi and even then it was 3-2. The good news is that most of his matches against decent wrestlers are close, so Surber COULD steal one here, but I don't think that will happen.

Prediction: Another rout by the Cowboys (IF EVERYONE WRESTLES). Let's call it 30-6.

1 ticket for sale for 01/23/2022 at 2:00 pm Lehigh Wrestling Match and Parking Pass.

FL 1 RW1 Seat 1. Orange Parking

This is on the end of 16 seats on front row floor level on the OSU side.

Will sell for $125 dollars for both seat ticket and parking pass and I will transfer them to you. May negotiate if I don’t have any offers as I have a conflict due to being a Chiefs Season Ticket Holder and we play Buffalo at 5:30 pm that day.

I cant pay near that, and tickets are $10 and should be plenty of decent seats for lehigh. If you want to help a huge fan out, I'm your guy lol.

$10 dollar seats are 300 level. All 200 level seats are sold out. This is floor level high dollar seat almost sitting on the mat. Lehigh is ranked and good so should be a full house is my guess.

Normally 200 level are full for good teams that are ranked but for wrestling you don’t want to sit in upper level. Depending if Chiefs win on Sunday and Titans lose Saturday I may be selling my ISU game ticket the next Sunday the 30th too.

There are hundreds of 200 level tickets for sale for $10 on Ticketmaster. If there are 3,000 people there on Sunday, I’ll be surprised.

The truth is our attendance dues not match Iowa and Penn State. I wish we could change that. There are so many reasons to like watching wrestling live compared to other sports. Matches are shorter and won't take the entire day. Even against an overmatched team, each individual match can bring excitement, etc. We need to grow interest in wrestling in Oklahoma. We need it to be talked about on the news, sports radio, etc. I think we should have wrestled the bedlam dual the same day as football to get those fans. Next year we need to wrestle OU or West Virginia on the same day as the football game.

I’ve gone the last five-years and all season tickets are sold out on the floor level and 200 level. For big matches it is packed in 200 level so that is why I moved to floor level and paid $680 for one seat. This is not bleacher but floor level about 10 feet from the mat.

Those are non season ticket holder seats far away from the mat that are $10 dollar seats. 200 Level season tickets are much closer to the mat than the $10 dollar seats advertised on Ticketmaster.

Titans lost to Bengals so if Chiefs beat Bills I may need to sell the ISU ticket next week due to a conflict since AFC Championship game would be Kansas City on next Sunday.

How much can you afford for ticket and parking pass to Lehigh Match?
Private message the guy, jeez.
