By the way, today's high temperature just matched Baghdad's high temperature for the day. Grab some body armor, helmet and 70 pounds of gear, go outside and you will get a glimpse of the insanity that is the middle eastern desert.
...but it's a DRY heat...

I hate when people say that... Iraq actually has a lot of greenery, it was the birthplace of civilization so the land is pretty fertile. Although it doesn't rain very often, it does have a lot of rivers that run thru it and it stays pretty humid. Not as humid as here, but still pretty bad.
It is the fertile crescent, mesopotamia etc. Iraqi history is pretty fascinating.
