Cowboy Basketball: vs Rapelor

I think fatigue could have been a factor without Shine and Lindy Waters. At least not having Waters for two games in a row.
I agree with that. Shine and Water were out. We sat N'Guessan because he couldn't handle the physicality down low. Having those players out really shortened our rotation and caused some fatigue.

I just meant I don't think the fatigue stems from Coach Underwood's system. In fact, it sure seemed like Baylor exerted more energy on the defensive end pressuring the ball than we did today.

I'm curious, anything think the struggles at the FT line are due to being tired from the different style of play Underwood is running? I seem to remember our FT shooting being much better last year with generally the same group of guys.

of course they have a little more fatigue, they didn't play defense last year. You have to practice when fatigued to be able to hit them. We aren't deep enough and we are playing with the same handicap that we had when Paige was playing, a short white guy that can't get his shot off. The league has changed to a different body type and our current roster has to change to meet it. The previous person that ran the program didn't leave us as stacked in the player dept as Hamilton left Sutton. Coach Underwood will get this solved.

Didn't play defense last year?

#2 scoring defense in the Big 12 last season
#2 field goal percentage defense in the Big 12 last season

This season we are dead last in both categories in the Big 12

Don't bring facts into this discussion. People would rather rather follow the crowd and spew whatever pops into their tiny brains

We have played WVU and Baylor so far, two of the more prolific offenses in the Big XII. See where they stack up at the end of the year.

Those are season stats (15 games so far this year)

Do you know where to find these statistics?

That's cuz we took the air out of the ball last year cuz we sucked. Without forte and Evans last 10 games we had no chance.

But still defense was one of the bright spots last season.

I posted season statistics earlier, in conference only games last season our defense was nearly as good statistically.

#3 Scoring defense. Tied with Kansas
#2 Field Goal Percentage Defense. Tied with West Virginia.

If you're going to disparage the effort of the kids last season you should first expend a little energy yourself and make sure your information is correct.

Last season OSU was #2 in the Big 12 hitting 73% of our free throws. Dropped a little bit in Big 12 play falling to #5 in the conference hitting 71% of our free throws.

This season through 15 games on the season OSU in #1 in the conference hitting 74% of our free throws.

So far this season in Big 12 play we are at 68%. But the issue seems to be getting the right people to the free throw line. Our best two FT shooters so far in big 12 play. (Forte and Evans)

West Virginia (61%)

Forte 0-0
Evans 9-14

Texas (83%)

Forte 7-7
Evans 3-4

Baylor (55%)

Forte 0-0
Evans 3-5

despite the rough start in conference play, there is no doubt in my mind that this program is in MUCH better hands that it was last season............. it is a tough year to break into the big 12.......... the team will keep improving, be patient people............
