LDR: @TomLuginbill still has me a 3* and 79 overall, I hope everyone will be watching because I will show you how little it matters #FUEL

Tom: @Ldelrio12 and ranked higher than Amy entity out there by the way

LDR: Tom...????

TOM: @LDR I can take shots at us, but we have you ranked higher than anyone.

LDR: Tom... I'm not taking shots...I just tweeted a fact, and no I am not

Tom: @LDR terrific go prove it we want you to succeed

And why do players care so much about what they are ranked?
The same reason people care about what their job title is or how much they are paid.

It is a ranking that is based upon your abilities...it should matter otherwise you probably aren't very competitive. It shouldn't be the end of the world but it should be a motivating factors

BINGO!

The better question would be why would players not care about where they are ranked
I have no problem with this mindset, however, I don't see the need for announcing it on twitter. The best athletes play with this type of mindset, but they don't need to vocal it out for everyone to hear. Not knocking the kid though; everyone has their own way of expressions I guess *shrugs*

He meant 'any' entity - Rivals, Scout, etc..

And why do players care so much about what they are ranked? Especially if they are already committed to a program. They should already know how biased that crap is... Haters Gunna Hate
They want to be the best at what they do. I feel like there are articles every so often about how players want to be the number 1 recruit. It is the same idea how LDR wanted the MVP at Elite 11. He wants to be the best.

Starting the movement to stop grown men from tweeting at football recruits. You WILL be called out if you do it. If you do it you're creepy. STOP DOING IT!

Again, Tom Luginbill is an idiot.

Why is he tweeting to players? I swear I hate most all "analysts" at ESPN ...except Rece Davis (he's awesome).

I hate Luginbell, he is arrogant even though he is wrong most of the time. He says some of the dumbest things and gets proven wrong over and over again, yet he is still stuck up.

He can't even keep his enormous ego in check and had to go and respond to a player's tweet. I think that is very unprofessional, but I've come to expect it from the guy.

Most analyst respond to players when they call them out

So let me see if I have this right:

Number of HS athletes who care about where they are ranked: 1
Number of keyboard quarterbacks who care about where HS athletes are ranked: ~250,000,000

Just checking.
