I'm headed to St Louis without tickets for my first NCAA championship experience. For those that have been before, how hard is it to get tickets outside the arena? And are they reasonably priced? Any other tips that would be helpful?

I'm a pretty big "wrestling" guy,I honestly don't go to the NCAA's that often though. I've always had bad timing with my work schedule during it.

In my experiences the early rounds are pretty easy to get tickets outside at for not a ton of money, but when you get to the finals it's a bit more pricey and harder to come by. Personally the more enjoyable experience I think is to get tickets through the ticket office at OSU because you end up sitting in a large OSU group. Just my opinion though and it may be too late to do that now. I would be a little concerned with walk up ticket prices jumping a bit because of Ohio State winning the Big 10. Suddenly there's a 3-team race between them, PSU, and OSU, and all 3 of those teams have pretty big followings that may suddenly be a bit more excited about going. That along with Iowa who always brings a lot and just the "regulars" that go all of the time regardless of who's good.

Be prepared for somewhat long days. It really is pretty fun, but OSU has ten guys going, so the first round Thursday starts at 11 and OSU won't be done until pretty much the last match of the round, then will start back up shortly after with more in the second round and have a bunch of matches again, I'd guess there's maybe a one hour break. As the tournament goes and guys lose out the rounds become shorter and you might have some in between time to go eat somewhere decent or sightsee.

Hope that helps a bit.

From the NCAA website:

Tickets for the 2017 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships at Scottrade Center in St. Louis March 16-18 are still available at NCAA.com/tickets. Buy and sell official tickets with other wrestling fans through the NCAA Ticket Exchange™ before it closes on March 13. This gives ticket holders who are unable to attend a session a place to safely sell their tickets. Buyers can also get their tickets knowing the tickets are authentic and guaranteed.

Also, they announced yesterday that they would publish the #1 and #2 seeds at each weight today at 3:00 CST today. That preceeds the "selection show" at 5:00. Don't what that is. Maybe the seedings and brackets?? Seems a little early.

You guessed correctly. It's similar to when they release the March Madness brackets for basketball. They'll go through each weight and show the seedings and first round matchups. It'll be available to watch online.

Be prepared for some hate. On my first trip to the Nationals, I was really surprised at the level of hate toward our program, especially from Minnesota. With 4 or more mats going at once, it seemed that everyone knew when one of our guys got taken down or reversed or had an injury time out or whatever. The whole place seemed to be cheering against us.

I love going to NCAAs. I love that the other fans hate our program "because they stall" but they think that everybody stalls... so whatever. I love all of the action on the mats. I love the story lines. I love the drama. It's a great event.

This is definitely true. That's why I recommend getting in an OSU section.

I will say part of it's because Iowa brings so many fans every year, and they'd rather see just about anyone, but us win. Don't get me wrong. Very few fan bases care for OSU, but Iowa definitely hates us more than anyone and when you consider the three largest fanbases there besides us will all be against us in Iowa, PSU, and tOSU, it will definitely be a rough environment for OSU fans. It'll make it that much sweeter if we win though.

They're releasing the 1 and 2 seeds now and are up to 141. Heil with the 1 seed. No other seeded Cowboys currently.
