Everyone seems to have a different take on why this is a note worth thing. Yes former POTUS have an office. Generally based out of their libraries.
So why is this important news?
Because it allows Trump an ave to again start releasing information out into the Media to be consumed by the people of the world. Since his digital means have been cut, this is a way for him to begin to get regular communication, thoughts, ideas etc out into the public.
That is why it is important. It allows Trump to begin a direct messaging line to the Public once again, which has pretty much been cut off since social media removed him.

Office of the President Elect wasn't really a thing until Obama. Of course Trump carried it on since he is a narcissist.
