With less than one week before the start of the first game, let's have some fun.

What bowl are you expecting the team to play in this year?

What is your favorite bowl destination and your least favorite bowl and why? Obviously your favorite bowl should be where the national championship is being played that year but if not making that game, what bowl is your favorite.

What bowl would you drop and what bowl would you add to replace it?

I'm going to guess we wind up in the Texas Bowl this year. I don't think it will be any lower than this bowl either. Texas Bowl or above which would be the Camping World, Alamo and then Sugar.

Favorite bowl destination is probably the Alamo Bowl. There is nothing like being in such close quarters with other Cowboy fans and the opponents. Walk out the hotel, to the Riverwalk and all the food or drink one can imagine. Then there is the walk to the Alamodome along with thousands of others in orange as well.

The bowl I would drop is the SERVPRO First Responder and the Heart of Dallas Bowl which seem to be alternating right now. I'd replace it was either the Holiday Bowl due to the great destination or the Music City Bowl in Nashville which is where the Titan's play. What a killer bowl line up that would be with adding one of these.

If we don’t make the playoffs, my first choice is the Sugar, second is Cotton, third is The Liberty, fourth is Alamo. Those are all easily accessible by a ton of Cowboy fans. Sugar means we are most likely in the top two in the conference. Cotton means we are very highly ranked.

The Cotton Bowl hasn’t taken a Big XII selection since they went At-Large the last 4 years. Not sure we’ll get one this bowl season either.

They didn't go at-large on their own. We jumped to the Sugar, so that left then without a conference affiliation. Which works well for them.

However, here's a small break down of your last 4 years
2015: Baylor played in the Cotton; OU in the Playoffs; OSU in the Sugar
2016: Semi-final game (no Big 12 representative in the playoffs); OU in the Sugar
2017: OU in the playoffs, Sugar hosted semi-final game;
2018: OU in the playoffs, Texas in the Sugar

It will take 1 of 3 things for a Big 12 team to be in the Cotton Bowl.

1. Two top 10 (maybe 12?) teams with no one in the playoffs
2. Three top 10 teams with one in the playoffs
3. One team ranked 1 or 2 in a year the Cotton hosts a semi-final game

I'll be curious to see if the send us to Glendale or Atlanta. The last time we played in the fiesta it was a good time.
