"@JonRothstein: Oklahoma State coach Travis Ford told me Michael Cobbins has gained 30 lbs. One of the nation's most underrated glue guys. 6.9 PPG 6.1 RPG."

    Wow 30 lbs?? That's awesome.

OSU needs a big man who can get the rebound and defend the paint and be a threat to get their own shot. Hope Cobbins can average 8 RPG and 9 PPG without foul trouble. The weight will only help him.

I'm sure he will drop some of it during the season but that's great news. Even if he can just hold onto 15 lbs extra that would be awesome. :)

Yep really hoping Cobbins averages 11 points and 8 or 9 boards a game. That would suhweet!

Cobbins was key in OSU's run of big wins in conference play. If he can consistently play like he did during that run last year, this team can go a long way.

Yep, Cobbins not being a 100% against Oregon hurt us badly.

If Cobbins is working that hard to bulk up this offseason then I will imagine he is working extremely hard on his game as well. He is very, very athletic and with a bit more size, and fine tuning his ability to finish around the rim, he should be an excellent role player for us this year. Man it feels weird being this excited about basketball season, that hasn't happened in a long time!

I don't see the big deal. I put on around that much with Joe's cheese fries in a few weeks.

He'll drop some of that when season gets up and going, but still good news.

The 30 lbs gained is since he arrived in Stw his freshman year. He's about 225-230 right now. Sure he'll lose some during the season, but for him to be success for us he's gotta play down low and bigger.

He'll never be a big guy but him gaining weight is great! He's a very athletic guy. Happy to hear it.

Heard the same thing and, IMO, that's just as important.

A more experienced and bulked up Cobbins and Murphy will mean good things for our rebounding numbers.

The new weight will be especially helpful with defending Joel Embiid.
