I don't know anything about the cost of coal or solar, but this sound like bs.

Do you count the millions of dollars in health care through medicare for coal miner diseases?
Do you count the massive expense of coal ash cleanup and the groundwater that is affected by poor disposal that has happened?
These subsidies occur years after the fact and are often handed over to taxpayers for dirty industry that was "cheap." The same industries that fight regulations then when the toxicity happens they say "Not our fault, we followed all the regulations." This is the downside of the Republican mantra to always "get rid of burdensome government regulations."
