Are there any baseball umpires out there? I am looking to get back into umping this summer, but I sold my gear years ago. Do you have any for sale or know someone who does ?

I've got some gear that I haven't used in a few years. It's still in really good shape. I used it for two years.

I have my old umpire mask that is in great condition, and I would be willing to let it go. But honestly, as POPOKE mentioned, you can usually find good used umpire gear at stores like Play it Again Sports.

I miss umpiring. I did it until I was 18 or 19. One of these summers I need to get back into it. They money wasn't bad, either!

Had a prep coach try and tell me if a fielder chooses to tag a runner instead of tag the base it is no longer a force out. The other teams coach yelled at me because I didn't ricg up his batter with a STRIKE THREE call after he swung at three consecutive pitches. I only ring em up when they don't swing, my bad. Needless to say I was glad to call the came because of lighning !!! FYI - No matter how good a coaches vision is, he cannot see if the ball is inside or out as well as I can behind the plate. Balls and strikes are NON-negotiable!!!!!!!!!!! I needed to vent a lil right there

I have done a lil bit of football, which I really enjoyed. I love doin baseball untill I get idiot coaches. Each of the asst coaches apologized for the way the coaches acted and told me I was doin fine, which was nice. I have no desire or the knowledge of the game to do basketball or soccer

I started reffing onlyhaving ever played soccer competitively. Found out I wasn't bad at it and started doing IM for spending money in all sports. Went and got football and hoops certified after that. Wasn't too hard to get into.

I don't like the whole "people throwing things" at you thing with baseball.

I have been trained to get out of the way, not stand there and let things come at me! Also, baseball just isn't my sport.

If you are looking for new stuff, Western Athletics used to be hard to beat. You might look online again at them.

As a high school coach, who has umpired, I applaud you for this. I can't stand it when umps make a vocal call on swinging strikes regardless of the count. The worst one is when there is a foul ball hit over the backstop or 20' off the line and he yells at the top of his lungs, "FOUL".
