Joe DeForest

Kiffin thought this was an old way of doing things that didn't work--Dooley acknowledged them in his press conference. That's the difference.

I am sure there could be additions to that list but who could argue with any of that.

I am sure OSU coaches would have no problem with any of those maxims - the only problem yall have is that you now have too many coaches - Please send us Joe DeFo.....we promise to take care of him.

Our interview process at LA Tech is winding down and of course rumors are running wild but there are a few that have some substance.

One is that Joe DeForest is one of the final 2-4 and he might bring Gunter Brewer with him if he gets the job. Tech does need a new receivers coach since our guy resigned a few weeks ago and they have been looking

Have yall heard anything about this and does it make sense (logical with all of the things going on at OSU staff)

I don't know anything about who is staying or going but it wouldn't totally surpirse me. Some people have been wondering what would happen with Brewer now that we have hired a new OC. I know that DeForest is well liked by the staff and team however and they would try very hard to keep him on board.

We wouldn't have half of the talent that we do have without Defo. I would be sad to see him go. He's a great recruiter. We can pretty much kiss central Texas and Houston goodbye if he leaves.

I think DeFo might be tempted to take Brewer as his OC to LaTech and I think Brewer would prefer that. He could also look at Meacham as he has had very successful OC experience at the lower levels of college ball.

He has screwed up about as much talent as he has brought in. There hasn't been one player that has developed into their full potential under his direction. The best place for him is special teams and that's it.

Hate to say it - Derek Dooley was never a real coordinator...his specialty -- Special Teams

I have been reading about Terry & Tommy Bowden wanting the job, as well as Malzahn. They are also looking at Todd Monken, our former and current Jacksonville Jaguars receivers coach who was a finialist for the job when Dooley got it.

I think DeForest would have to really blow them away or put himself forward as a better value for the buck, to gain any leaverage over the other canadiates.

Malzahn is out, and we are pretty sure he got a nice raise from Auburn out of the deal.

Monken has continued to be a strong mention and was runner up to Dooley last time.

The Bowden boys have been mentioned a lot and I think Terry has actually been begging like a dog for it. They are respected guys but not popular choices - we are not looking for retread or rehab coaches.

He coaches D backs and special teams....our tacking on both has been horrible until soem improvement this year with Young's influence. Watching our D backs stand and wait to hug someone who runs through their arms instead of actually tackling has been tough to watch.

How long has he been coach D-backs ?

Our interviews are over for the HC position....we know a few of those who interviewed but there is a group of 2-4 we don't have names for and we feel Joe DeForest is among them. So does anyone live on the same street as this guy??????

I know you guys don't want to hear about Gooners but we are now hearing and it is about to be more than rumor - Keven Wilson - OKie OC will be the guy named LA Tech today for the HC posiition.

Wow. I mean I knew he was on the list but he's been on lists for several years now and it never pans out. Interesting.

We believe that a press conference will be at 3:00 today --also, that there was a flight from OU Airport to Monroe LA yesterday - that is very unusual.
