Interesting that the LAPD grounded their helicopters that morning due to conditions. They require a 2 mile visibility and an 800 foot cloud ceiling. Helicopter was traveling at 184mph and descending at 45mph.

People in the area couldn't see the helicopter.

I'm sure the conditions and speed are going to become a focal point of the story.

It's going to come down to whether the pilot was flying VFR (Visual Flight Rules) vs. IFR (Instrument Flight Rules).
