Meh. It says right there his agent didn't fully prepare him for everything he'd encounter.

At this point, it's all irrelevant anyway. The nature of pro sports dictates that once you're there, you don't need to worry about anything other than that particular sport. If this kid was an OSU guy, I suppose I'd be a little embarrassed. However, I'm a Dallas fan and he's an LSU guy, so GO COWBOYS! Haters gonna hate.

Maybe the professors at LSU that tried to learn him something good. Bad reflection on the academics at LSU, just like it will be for us if we ever put out a product with that kind of attitue. Dez was close enough.

You do understand there is ALOT more to playing football than just lining up on Sunday's?

Yup, and if Claiborne didn't understand that part, then he wouldn't have been nearly as successful on Saturdays.

You do understand if this was a big deal he wouldn't have been taken 6th overall in the NFL draft?

    The wonderlic is overrated.

Wonderlic is not the problem I see, It is his attitude toward the test and the fact that he did not finish it, red flag for me on the fact that he does not take every challenge head on and see it finished, regardless of the relevance of the test, your future employment is partially graded on this test, the fact that dallas drafted a person of this character, is not suprising, so yay to undereducated role models for minority youth!

Big picture. It's not just the wonderlic, it's his apparent flippant attitude to something in the process of getting a job. It's his whole outlook.
There is still a lot of learning and aptitude needed in the game of football outside of just lining up.

I don't really believe that he didn't try.. I think he just couldn't finish in the allotted time, then spun it like he didn't care to avoid looking dumb.

I've never heard his work ethic questioned before, so I'm not too concerned

Too late for this. He admitted he answered 15 questions and he only got four of those right. So either he has a bad attitude or he's just not very smart. Both are red flags to me if I'm the guy about to sign him to a multi-million dollar contract.

I think to label him with either (right now) is a little harsh. A bad attitude? What else have you heard about the guy that would make you believe that? Not very smart.. well, if you can base that off one test, I guess..but as long as he's smart enough to know what he needs to do on Sundays..

I'm basing it off of the fact that he got a 4 on a test that by all accounts is not very difficult. I believe I read that his score was the lowest ever. That implies, at least to me, that A) he was too lazy to put any effort into it or B) wasn't smart enough to answer the questions correctly.

I'm not saying he can't play football, just that it would make me think twice about taking him as a Top 10 pick.
