I have seen this story play out before. Here is what is coming:
1. Barry Trammell will tell us how grateful we should be to have Gundy and he is the greatest we've ever had and runs a clean program. Blevins will join in.
2. Sportsanimal boys, including Trabor, will mimic Trammell.
3. We will be told that the players have to make plays and its not on the coaches.
4. There will be a kumbya moment with the media and Gundy, the Kyle's and Trabor be effusive in praise of his new found openness.

Holder will have a hard time firing the new media darling. Nevermind that Gundy should not have been let on the bus back to Stillwater Saturday night.
Actually, Traber It’s going off on Gundy today Saying he has hit his ceiling and either needs to Move On or be fired. He even brought up the fact that KU is beating us in recruiting right now.

Just wait for kumbya moment, it will happen. If you remember Trabor did the same thing to Mikey Stoops, then they had their little radio segment and all was forgiven.

Les Miles years (2-2 vs ou) ou was ranked #4 & #3 for the two OSU wins, and #1 & #2 for two losses...
In 2001 OSU beat ou 16-13...ou was 10-1 going into Bedlam and ranked #4, while OSU was 3-7...ou ended #6 in final ap poll (11-2)
In 2002 OSU beat ou 38-28...ou was 10-1 going into Bedlam and ranked #3, while OSU was 6-5...ou ended #5 in final ap poll (12-2)
In 2003 ou beat OSU 52-9...ou was 8-0 going into Bedlam and ranked #1, while OSU was 7-1, ranked #14...ou ended #3 in final ap poll, (12-2) KState beat ou in Big12 championship 35-7.
In 2004 ou beat OSU 38-35...ou was 7-0 going into Bedlam and ranked #2, while OSU was 6-1, ranked #20...ou ended #3 in final ap poll (12-1)
I guess my point is, ou was pretty damn good during these years and we managed to go 2-2...so I'm not interested in the idea that ou has so much more talent and is just better than us...
So you're not interested in the truth? They are that much more talented than us most years. That says more about coaching than pulling an occasional upset....

The Texas game turned the ou season around and they scored over 60 in the two CONFERECE games to follow...we ran into a buzzsaw without an offense to match it. Offense is our issue and QB and Oline are not helping. HOW do we get better on offense? How are we coaching in game prep? Are we running our offense against #1 defense and being stuffed every play and losing our confidence? What's up in practice? Anyone...anyone?

Snyder had both our and ou recruits for most of the 1990s due to probation for both of us...so no, he did not have lessor players than Gundy has had. As far as leveling the field, what are your ideas? The biggest problem we have is that it’s NOT a level playing field. How do you fix it if not for some type of draft like changes to recruiting? Also need to be done in basketball, I agree.
Sounds like socialist talk to me. Snyder did it with mostly juco players. Maybe Gundy needs to go that route.

"I didn't like our concepts on Saturday night," Gundy said. "We could have done a better job of coaching. When I looked at it again, I graded every play Sunday morning in all three phases. Special teams we were just fine, but I didn't think we did a very good job of coaching, more so now than what I thought after the game on Saturday night. I thought the players played hard and competed, I thought we could have done a better job of coaching."

I'm too lazy to compile the numbers again but when this season is over we will be about 5th in the conference in success against OU in the Gundy years. Everyone has trouble with OU, but relative to the rest of the schedule we have more trouble.

But we would rank among the top against the others under Gundy. Les had a great record against OU but was abysmal against everyone else

I don't doubt that at all. That still doesn't change the fact that the leading cause of us losing to OU a majority of the time is because they have more talent and depth... That's not an excuse, its the reality. The only person you can hold accountable for that is Gundy as he is the CEO.

We have had more talented teams than teams that have had more success against OU... Sure. It seems though, that when OU has "down" years, we are down that year too. I think there is a lot to say about playing them later in the season as well. As a rule of thumb, deeper teams do better late in season while injuries and fatigue mound up. - That is probably an excuse. However, Id be interested to look at how many regular season games they lose before vs after Halloween.

One thing I find interesting is that in 9 of the 14 losses it was a 1 score game in the 4th.

Still can’t get over this ridiculous reply. If I knew nothing else about Mike Gundy, and I wasn’t an Oklahoma state fan, I would swear this was parody or he was already turning in his resignation letter. It was that bad.

They came to beat our asses to a pulp. Our coach lead the troops in just hoping we had some survivors at the end. It’s always that way with him. Never in my 40 years of watching OSU football has the ‘little brother’ concept ever been more apparent than it was this weekend. Never.

Gumbyfrompokeyland calls everyone delusional that is criticizing the coaching all weekend. Gundy comes out and admits the coaching sucked on Monday. I love it.
Well, you got a remember only certain fans actually know anything about football or how an offense might actually work. That’s a direct quote. Apparently he’s in that group but Mike Gundy and the rest of us are not.

There’s stud coaches out there. You have to be in a position to pick them up.

Gundy has shown his ceiling. It’s well past time to move on. But he’ll probably draw a beatable name brand bowl opponent (Miami, anyone?). Beat them by a possession. You’ll get the warm and fuzzies again and look forward to the promise of next year. Rinse and repeat.

I just want a competitive team in conference. That’s it. Beef up the conference identity.

This guy obviously has poor taste in football teams, but he's spot on. Time to impart a different persona on our team.

Think of Gundy as the second step towards OSU being legit. Of course Boone is the first.

you Gundy lovers make me want to puke. Bunch of blind morons to think he has any kind of edge anymore. Takes zero chances and offense is vanilla at best. Holder is a little bit** also.
Has anyone explained to you about how decimated our offensive line is? When you have 3 star Freshmen starting, vanilla is the outcome. Sorry if reality makes you want to puke. Try Pepto.

We scored 16 points on tulsa at the beginning of the year when healthy. The only team that scored less on tulsa was a 1 win university of south florida team which scored 13 pts. East carolina scored 30 on tulsa. Do you think we have better players than east carolina? This offense has been trash since the moment we stepped off of the bus.

This is the problem...down deep I don’t think Gundy believes we can win. His expectation is that we will lose..part of me thinks he secretly is still a kid that wished ou would have recruited him..probably rooted for them in grade school and high school.

I honestly feel this way

All you people that whine about the o-line please remember this has been a problem since Wickline left and we hired a guy that wouldn't recruit, followed by hiring Henson but not making an effort to keep Henson. We replace Henson with a guy that wasn't being retained at K-State and acting like it was a trade up. Don't blame injury, blame the decisions being made about recruiting, the staff and play schemes.

There are a whole lot of high school head coaches teaching class every day and being paid $12,000 over base that could fix this mess, what is $4,000,000 getting us?
