Well we played Baylor really tough last night at Baylor. I think on a neutral court with neutral refs and a complete healthy roster we could beat them. We really need to beat wvu though to help secure a top 4 seed.

Honestly, I think I might prefer a 6 seed to a 4/5 seed. Play a 3 and a 2 instead of a 4/5 and a 1. However, I don't see that happening even if we lose out at this point. Probably easier to slip into a 3. Win the next two and that likely happens.

I'd agree but man that 6 vs 11 match up always produces a couple upsets every year it feels like. Makes me nervous. I just want to win a game or two in the tourney

I think the goal is sweet sixteen. Anything past that is gravy. Just survive the first weekend

Well, I think this is the obvious rankings right now.

1. Gonzaga
1. Baylor
1. Michigan
1. Illinois

2. Houston
2. Iowa
2. Alabama

Then, it starts to get tough. Ohio State just lost 4 in a row and WVU 2 in a row, so we should jump both of them. Creighton lost to Villanova, Villanova lost their best player to injury and got beat down by Providence, and FSU lost to a bad Notre Dame team, so I think we jump them too.

2. Arkansas?

3. Kansas
3. Oklahoma State
3. Texas
3. Ohio State

4. West Virginia
4. Texas Tech
4. Villanova
4. Florida State

5. Virginia Tech
5. Creighton
5. Virginia
5. Purdue

All these teams are really close and it will depend on what happens in conference tourneys. I think there is a fairly big gap after this. Don’t think we can fall below a 5 seed at this point.

OSU is up to 8 in the RPI, but 31 in the NET rankings. Such a big disparity.

I think if we beat WVU again we're for sure a 3 seed, worst case is 4. Outside shot at a 2 if we were to get to the finals of the Big XII.

In order to get through the finals we are going to have to go through Baylor. If we beat them then I think 2 seed is a real possibility. If we win the whole thing I think 2 seed is assured. That would give us 3 more Q1 wins more than likely.

Lunardi still has us as a 4 seed and the other OSU as a 2 seed. He has 2 Big 10 teams as 1 seeds, 2 big 10 teams as 2 seeds. I understand someone could make a case that the big 10 is the best conference (I still think it's the big 12), but you can't make a case that the big 10 has 4 of the top 8 seeds while the big 12 only has 1 of them. It will be interesting to see the actual seeds when they come out.

FWIW, Illinois is 8-6 in Q1 games. We’re 8-5.

Likely OSU moves to 3 seed with Villanova and Florida St losing to terrible teams. Both were projected 3 seeds. How we do in the conference tourney determines if we're a 3 or 4. Hard to see us going lower than a 4 at this point.

I’m so used to cheering for the favorites in the small school conferences in the conference tourney in order to hope OSU can sneak in on the bubble. It’s a nice change of pace to cheer for some upsets to move worse teams up the seed line. Since we will most likely be matched up with an automatic qualifier as a 4 or 3 or 2 seed.

I want to avoid the 5 line at all costs. I think that we could be anywhere from a 5-2 based on what happens in the conference tourneys and what metrics the NCAA looks at. 3 and 4 seeds get much easier matchups than 5 and 6 seeds. Would be nice to at least win 1 in the Big XII tourney. That would take a 5 seed out of the committee’s hands.

I feel like Arkansas is the bell of the ball and everyone is forgetting that we beat them coming off of a Covid break. According to ESPN they are a 3 and we are a 4. Don’t understand how you can be that close on the seeding line and put them over us.
