Hold up! Did a gooner fan seriously just suggest that OSU 'cut a kid loose'? haha that's rich. As a safety prospect, he redshirts anyway. Gundy should let this play out.

He double signed with Blinn back in Feb. expect to see him there, but expect us to get him in two years. He has been one of the true freshman that probably would have not redshirted based on his play so far. It sucks, but OSU has done nothing wrong here.

This Morton Ranch situation is interesting...3 coaches (HC, OC & DC) on administrative leave during the investigation by Katy ISD. Local rumors they were turned in by the the wife, former MRHS teacher, of one of the coaches...the coach is divorcing her because she was caught in an affair with a student at Morton Ranch HS.

Under the Texas UIL rules a school district gets 10 days to conduct their investigation but this one may go a little longer. The kid expected to start at QB for MRHS this year is Sam Carter (has an offer from us) is now on suspension as well. Sam transfered into MRHS from a Houston ISD school last spring and his eligibility is also being investigated.

Has a very nice Soap Opera feel to the whole thing.

Man this is nuts. I am glad OSU has done nothing wrong and that from the sounds of it Joe Mitchell may not have done anything wrong. I watched the news clip posted and if what the Anonymis guy says is correct then we should get Mitchell and be fine. However even if the allegations are true then we would only lose the one player and shouldnt be put on any kind of probation.

The bad part of it is that why would this letter seemingly single out Joe Mitchell(it may not, but his is the only name we know of right now) if this was a faulse accusation.

Hopefully everything gets cleared up and the worst thing that happens is we lose Mitchell.

Yeah I did say cut a kid lose if this drama pans out and he is not eligible, let him go to a juco and if he turns into a player that could contribute then give him a shot in 2 years. We lost a recruit this year to juco as well, it can actually benefit the university if the kid decides to keep his commitment because the coaches basically get to re-evaluate the guy a season or two later.

Our coach's are good enough that their evaluation is usually right the first time around. :p
