The previous seven days provided a glimpse of what many Cowboy fans have experienced in prior years: doses of excitement and optimism leading to disappointment. Let’s dive into the highs and lows on social media last week.

Four-star Guard Avery Anderson committed to OSU last week, and oh boy, he can go. Check out these highlights from

Pokes also made the Final 4 for this Class of ’19, 4-Star wing out of Georgia.

These types of events may help explain Boynton’s recruiting success.

You don't say "no" when the @GoArmy Golden Knights ask you to jump out of their airplane. #meetyourarmy #c2e

— Cowboy Basketball (@OSUMBB) September 21, 2018

It wasn’t all highs. The low points was seeing the Dax2Stilly Campaign come up short, as Justice Hill’s little brother committed to Michigan last week.

— Dirty30 (@daxhill5) September 18, 2018

OSU football recruiting did have a respectable week however, as the Pokes picked up a commitment from Dallas Skyline product Kamryn Farrar.

Excited for my next chapter! #Cowboyup19 #GoPokes

Weather’s Suspension

Boone broke this story last week. Hate to see poor choices being made from those on Boynton’s squad.

Oklahoma State guard Michael Weathers has been suspended from the team indefinitely. He's facing criminal charges for felony grand larceny and knowingly concealing stolen property.

Jalen McCleskey will utilize the new redshirt rule

Jalen McCleskey is out of Stillwater as of Monday, September 24. He made the decision to utilize the redshirt rule, allowing him to preserve eligibility to use at another school.

Oklahoma State WR Jalen McCleskey most accomplished player yet to utilize new redshirt rule

— CBS Sports CFB (@CBSSportsCFB) September 24, 2018

It seems McCleskey expected to get more targets than any other WR on this year’s team.

Breaking: Jalen McCleskey has decided to redshirt and transfer from #OKState. Mike Gundy said McCleskey said he feels like he wasn’t getting the ball enough. Shocking loss of a veteran WR.

— Mark Cooper (@mark_cooperjr) September 24, 2018

For what it’s worth: Jalen McCleskey got the same number of targets (23) as Dillon Stoner and Tyron Johnson thru 4 games.

Losing to Tech (In-Game)

Play of the Day in the disappointing loss to Tech

Losing to Tech (Post-Game)

I feel this…

— nathan hog (@cowboyhog) November 19, 2017

Saturday was one of the worst performances in recent memory for the Pokes.

Texas Tech 41, Oklahoma State 17. In Stillwater. Wow.

— Jake Trotter (@Jake_Trotter) September 23, 2018

This was one of my takeaways from the game as well. Hope to see Justice get more touches this week.

Justice Hill is almost averaging 10 YPC. Given the fact that the osu defense is struggling mightily and osu needs to retain the ball, the fact that he only has 10 carries is a travesty.

— Adam Lunt (@AdamLunt817) September 23, 2018

Of course… With the Pokes demise, the Longhorns take advantage and beat a TCU team who was beaten up by Ohio State last week.

Alabama stays No. 1, Oklahoma State drops out and Texas is back

Cowboy Golf

Hovy is the real deal!!

Fact. Standing ovations are undefeated. #okstate #golfschool

— Oklahoma State Golf (@OSUCowboyGolf) September 23, 2018

This was awesome. Cowboy Golf is overflowing with momentum.

It’s your world Viktor Hovland … the rest of us are just paying rent! #okstate #golfschool

Guys, Mason Cox just played a significant role in leading Collingwood to an AFL grand final. Like, was maybe the second-best player on the field. This is amazing and awesome and so cool. A 6-foot-11 American dominating Australian football against the best team in the comp.

Big Presti fan right here.

@okcthunder GM Sam Presti talks about pioneer John McClendon, the 1st black head coach in any professional sport.

I laughed.

Texas has placed TCU's band in the state of Oklahoma for today's game
